The Weeknd at the Anime Awards is such an unexpected but exciting crossover! His music really has that cinematic quality that fits perfectly with anime’s dramatic storytelling. I can totally see him presenting an award for a series with a killer soundtrack or a mind-bending plot twist like “Attack on Titan” or “Demon Slayer.”

What do you think he might present? Any particular category you’re hoping to see him involved in? Also, I wonder if he’s a fan of any specific series, that would make for some fun behind-the-scenes moments!

Seeing The Weeknd speak about anime like this feels genuine. The mention of Sailor Moon and Goku sounds like real childhood memories instead of promotion talk. What stands out more is the focus on Samurai Champloo, which is not always the first show people name. The connection he made to House of Balloons also makes sense. That kind of influence shows how anime can shape creative work in a serious way. This is good for the Anime Awards because it shows the medium has strong global impact beyond just fans.

A smart choice for the Anime Awards overall. The Weeknd brings attention, but also has real knowledge. Referencing Sailor Moon and creators like Katsuhiro Otomo shows that. That combination is important. More people might tune in because of him, and then learn more about anime in the process. That kind of exposure helps the industry grow.

Not surprising anymore to see global artists support anime. The Weeknd mentioning Satoshi Kon shows deeper exploration. That kind of reference helps introduce more people to classic creators. Celebrity presence can be useful when it respects the medium like this.
