The Land of Sometimes Title Song Released for Film Premiere

Honestly didn’t expect much from an audiobook adaptation, but this looks way better than I thought. The trailer has real energy and the stakes feel genuine with the island crumbling. Voice cast is insane—Asa Butterfield, Jessica Henwick, Alisha Weir plus legends like Ewan and Mel. That’s not normal for indie animation. I like how the Collector explains the rules clearly so it doesn’t drag. April 7 digital is locked in for me. No way I’m waiting till June for disc unless it’s a masterpiece. Fingers crossed the script is as tight as the trailer.

The trailer hooked me hard. That flying ship sequence and the butterfly talking? Yes please. Story seems straightforward—kids make wish, get trapped, race time—but the visuals make it stand out. Having big names like Helena Bonham Carter and Mel Brooks helps a lot. I think the seasonal island idea gives them room for lots of different scenes without feeling random. Digital release April 7 is perfect timing for me. I’ll probably watch it the day it drops. Physical in June might be worth it for the artwork alone. This could be a nice surprise in a year full of sequels.

This movie popped up out of nowhere and now I’m interested. The whole “one day to save everything or the island disappears” thing is simple but effective. Trailer shows a lot of variety—flying ships, strange creatures, seasonal changes. That’s smart for keeping kids hooked. Voice lineup is ridiculous for an indie project. Terry Jones and Mel Brooks together again? Nice. I’m skeptical about the family-friendship moral because it can get cheesy fast, but if the adventure is strong I’ll forgive it. Planning to stream it April 7. Blu-ray in June only if reviews are amazing. Looks better than most straight-to-streaming stuff lately.
