The 2001 movie was good but the series adds so much more heart. Those extra episodes let you really feel how the four friends drifted apart because of money, family, pride. Choi Jin-Suk wasn’t just a love interest, she was the mirror they needed but never listened to. Hyun Bin carried the whole thing on his shoulders. If you like stories about brotherhood and regret, watch this on KOCOWA right now.

I watched this years ago and still think about Dong-Su’s choices. The guy just wanted respect and ended up destroying everything. Kim Min-Jun played Joon-Seok so well, that heavy silence he carries is painful to watch. Busan vibe is strong here, makes you miss old Korea even if you never lived it. Personal rating 8.5 from me. Better than most movies these days.

Not gonna lie, I skipped it at first because it’s 20 episodes. Big mistake. Once you start, you can’t stop. The friendship feels so genuine in the beginning, then life just tears it apart slowly. That’s what makes it hurt more than the original film. Hyun Bin was insane in this role, his eyes tell the whole story. Definitely recommend.
