Crunchyroll has sent out pics and details regarding their March physical release schedule, which so far consists of three Blu-Ray sets. Let’s get the least exciting one out of the way first: Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time will be released on Blu-ray March 10. No pictures were provided. There, now onto the meat… Dragon Ball Daima, the newest Dragon Ball series and the last to feature direct involvement from creator Akira Toriyama, gets its long-awaited Blu-Ray set on March 3! It comes in a box trimmed with silver foil and decorated with art by series animation character designer Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru….and you can find several silver foil art cards inside featuring the main characters, plus Kid Goku, Kid Vegeta and Kid Piccolo stickers. A standard edition release will also be available on the same day without those things, but with the same on-disc bonus features. Oh yeah, if you didn’t know, the reason Goku and his friends are kids again on the stickers and box art is because that’s the premise — they were turned into kids from a curse and have to travel to the Demon Realm and secure three of the realm’s own Dragon Balls to undo […]

I collect Blu-rays mostly for series that mean something to me long-term. Dragon Ball always qualifies, even when I do not love every new idea. Daima feels like a legacy project more than a bold experiment, and that makes sense given Toriyama’s involvement. I see this as something fans will revisit years from now, not just a seasonal watch. The extras are modest, but the presentation sounds respectful.

Solo Leveling season 2 is more tempting for me as a purchase right now. The story is still fresh, and the hype is strong. The art book is a smart bonus because it adds insight instead of clutter. I also like that Crunchyroll included small things like a sticker sheet without overselling it.

I see this lineup as Crunchyroll playing defense, not offense. Dragon Ball Daima is a safe bet, and Solo Leveling season 2 is riding current popularity. There is nothing wrong with that, but it does not feel adventurous. I was hoping for something unexpected alongside these.

Dragon Ball Daima still feels like a question mark story-wise, but the physical release looks fine. I do not care much about foil or stickers, but I know collectors do. At least the on-disc features are the same across versions.

Solo Leveling season 2 feels more complete as a package. The art book alone makes it feel like effort was put into the release. That matters to me more than flashy packaging.

The alchemist title feels like it is just filling space. I might watch it someday, but I would not buy it blind.

I am not disappointed, but I am not excited either. This is a steady, careful month, and sometimes that is all companies aim for.

Sorry, I will pass on this. I do not see the point of buying DVDs or Blu-rays anymore. Almost everything is already available on streaming services, and that is how I watch my shows now. It is faster, easier, and does not take up physical space. I do not want shelves full of discs that I might only watch once.

Streaming also lets me switch between shows without changing anything or worrying about storage. If I feel like rewatching something, it is already there. I understand that some people like collecting or want special boxes and art cards, but that is not for me. Those extras do not add real value to the experience of watching the show.

Physical media feels outdated at this point. Most people I know do not even own a disc player anymore. Laptops, consoles, and TVs are all built around apps, not discs. For me, convenience matters more than ownership. As long as streaming services keep these shows available in good quality, I am satisfied.

Solo Leveling season 2 is probably the one I would actually buy. The story is still ongoing, and having a physical version makes it feel more permanent. The art book sounds like it was made with fans in mind, not just as a sales trick.
