“Shooting Stars” is a delightful, lighthearted 2022 Korean drama series, with 16 episodes, categorized as Romance and Comedy, and streaming on Viki. SUMMARY: The reason celebrities always look good is because there is always someone behind the scenes who is adept at crisis management. What the public doesn’t know is that behind the scenes, the celebrity and their crisis manager dislike each other so much that being in the same room causes discomfort. Because it’s uncomfortable, the celebrity makes a habit of being in the same room, not realizing there’s a thin line between making someone uncomfortable and falling in love with them.

Obsessed with this~ The pacing was smooth, and the main leads had such a believable tension. I especially appreciated that Oh Han-Byeol was shown as capable and respected. She’s not just there to be a love interest. The scenes where she helped other celebrities were my favorite. It gave the show heart and showed how much she cares about her job. The romance part grew on me slowly. It wasn’t rushed, and that made it feel more real. Gong Tae-sung could be immature, but it’s clear he was hiding a lot of his feelings. His line, “You look happy. And that makes me feel bad,” was so honest, even if it was a bit selfish. Real emotions aren’t always polite, and I like when dramas show that.

I didn’t finish the whole series. I stopped at episode 10. It was okay, but I got bored. I like enemies-to-lovers usually, but I think this one was too slow. Also, Tae-sung just seemed rude. Not in a fun way, just annoying. Maybe I’ll go back later and finish it, but for now, it’s not for me.

I loved every episode. The tension between Han-Byeol and Tae-sung was the best part. He acts like he hates her, but deep down he just doesn’t know how to express his feelings. When someone hides their true emotions, it can look like anger, and this drama shows that very well. I laughed at their fights, but I also felt sad for them. You can tell they have history. I also liked the side characters and the little stories with other actors. It made the world feel full. Very good script, and great performances from both leads.

For me, the drama was too clean. Everything was wrapped up nicely, and even the biggest problems didn’t feel that serious. I prefer dramas with more emotional conflict or a darker tone. “Shooting Stars” was more like a soft snack. Easy to watch, but not very filling. The acting was good, though, especially from Lee Sung-Kyung. I might recommend it to friends who like relaxing rom-coms, but I need more depth.

Watching “Shooting Stars” gave me a new respect for PR workers. I didn’t realize how much pressure they are under. Han-Byeol worked nonstop, helping others, solving problems, and staying professional even when Tae-sung gave her a hard time. I liked that she didn’t lose herself in the romance. She stayed strong. Gong Tae-sung grew on me over time, but he was frustrating in the beginning. I’m glad the drama showed his softer side slowly. It felt more realistic that way. I’d recommend this to anyone who enjoys workplace romance with smart characters and good writing.
