Okay, I LOVED Hopeless! The characters were so complex and relatable, even if their choices weren’t always the best. Yeon-Kyu's journey really got to me because it felt so real—like sometimes people don’t have any other options. The film makes you think about the environment you grow up in and how hard it is to break free from it. Song Joong-Ki’s portrayal of Chi-Gun was mesmerizing—he’s a character you love to hate but also feel bad for. This movie is intense, but definitely worth the watch if you’re into heavy dramas

I kept waiting for some glimmer of hope to show up, but instead, everything seemed so bleak. The pacing was a bit off as well, with too much focus on the brutal aspects and not enough on character development.

I thought it was good too which is why it was a disappointment to see low ratings. Low ratings? But the new actors got awards for their performances and they held up against a veteran actor like Song Joong-Ki. Ratings are such a mystery! ()

I agree. There were complaints that the brutality and violence of this film was unnecessary. To be honest, I've seen movies that were much worse and there was no point to scenes other than blood and gore. Violence was expected. I mean … it was a hopeless neighborhood; not a utopia. But I did not really think the scenes were overkill. I thought the complaints were not justified. #IMHO

One would think that the moral of the story would be that life is not hopeless. But after I got 3 quarters of a way through the movie, and hope had not arrived … even I gave up! LOL.
