Velma is Finally Cancelled! Ding Dong the Witch is dead!

Velma animated series has officially been canceled, much to the delight of many viewers. This animated series, a reimagining of the iconic Scooby-Doo character, has been widely criticized for its poor writing, unlikable characters, and forced social commentary. While the show’s decision to race-swap Velma and turn her lesbian was controversial, it wasn’t necessarily the deal-breaker for many. The real issue lies in the show’s execution. She is portrayed as a condescending, sexist, and racist character who refuses to admit her mistakes. The original Velma was a beloved figure known for her intelligence and friendship; this new version falls far short. The forced lesbian relationship between Velma and Daphne also drew criticism. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with LGBTQ+ representation, the pairing felt unnatural and forced. The characters simply lacked chemistry, unlike the dynamic duo of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy in their own series. The Harley Quinn animated series, a ratings winner, even spawned spin-offs like Kiteman due to its successful comedic approach and better representation. The few Velma fans can still have a closure as the Halloween Special will act as series finale. To Remind everyone why Velma is Unwatchable here is a compilation of Cringe moments […]

Velma was a prime example of how not to do a reimagining. They tried to be too edgy and forgot what made the original show so great. The writing was weak, the characters were unlikable, and the humor was forced. It's a shame, but sometimes you just have to know when to quit.

I was initially excited for Velma because I'm a big fan of Mindy Kaling's work. She's usually hilarious, so I thought this show would be a fun, modern take on Scooby-Doo. Boy, was I wrong. This show was so bad, it made The Acolyte look like Citizen Kane.

So long, Velma! Time to whip out the "nobody asked for this" meme one last time. Seriously though, this show was a meme goldmine. The cringe was unreal. But hey, at least it gave us some good content for the internet. I am gonna miss hate watching this show.

I can't believe Velma actually made it to a second season. It's like they kept it around just because people hated it so much. I guess "hate watching" is a thing now. But thankfully, the evil that is Velma has finally been defeated. No more season 3! It's a victory for fans of good storytelling and decent characters.

Velma was a disgrace to the Scooby-Doo franchise. The characters were unlikable, the humor was forced, and the plot was non-existent. I'm glad it got cancelled, but I hope they don't try to bring it back.the humor was forced, and the plot was non-existent. I'm glad it got cancelled, but I hope they don't try to bring it back.

I was actually hoping they would redeem themselves with the second season of Velma. I thought maybe they would listen to the feedback and improve the show. But nope, they doubled down on everything that made it bad in the first place. The characters were even more unlikable, the humor was even more forced, and the plot was even more cringe. They had a chance to make things right, but they blew it. This cancellation is well-deserved.
