It’s back…..it always happen in threes. Scarlet Moon Records is once again going all out for spooky season with Scarlet Moon Halloween III, their latest in a series that mixes up the talent on their label with assorted chilling covers of video game music. The series started in 2022, spun off from the successful “Scarlet Moon Christmas” series, and has had an entry each year since. Here’s what’s in store this time: tunes from Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest, The Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye, and The 7th Guest are covered by conposers like Adam Holzman, VECTORDRIVE, Xykrotik and Los Coronados. Plus, Soyo Oka (Super Mario Kart, Pilotwings) contributes a totally original song, “The Night The Witch Comes.” “Bone Wires” by VECTORDRIVE “Children of the Night (“Bloody Tears” from Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest) by bLiNd “Elegy for the Rings (The Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye)” by Xykrotik “The Night the Witch Comes” by Soyo Oka “The Game feat. Halloween music? Count me in! I love the Scarlet Moon series, and this one sounds like it'll be another spooky treat. The lineup of composers is amazing, and I'm especially excited to hear Adam Holzman and Soyo Oka's contributions. The cover of "Bloody Tears" from Castlevania II: Simon's Quest is a must-listen. I can't wait to get my hands on this album and listen to it all Halloween night.
