This week Capcom announced it is bringing back the original Dead Rising, the zombie invasion game from 2006, in a souped-up re-rendered remake called Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Why a DELUXE Remaster? Because the game was already remastered for its tenth anniversary in 2016. Let’s go for three and get a triple remaster in a few years! Freelance photojournalist Frank West has just arrived in Willamette, Colorado to check out rumors that something suspicious is going on there. Whoever told him that undersold it — the local mall is overrun with zombies. If Frank can capture enough evidence, he can warn the world, but to do that he has to escape the mall alive. Many modern features have been added for Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster including a 60 FPS framerate at 4K, updated character models for everyone, and voiceover support in nine different languages. There’s also all this: Frank West now has the ability to move while aiming! Aspiring photojournalists can customize action shots with filters to get the best

I remember playing the original Dead Rising back in the day and getting totally hooked. This deluxe remaster sounds incredible. All these updates, especially the real-time lighting and shadow effects, are going to make it feel like a whole new experience while keeping that nostalgic vibe. Remember when Frank West could wear any outfit he found in the mall, including women's clothing? That was hilarious and just added to the fun. The auto-save feature is a nice touch, too. I always hated having to find a bathroom to save! Can’t wait to revisit Willamette with all these enhancements. It’s like meeting an old friend with a fresh new look.

As someone who loves classic games, I’m really excited for Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. I played the original back in 2006 and loved every minute of it. Seeing it get a deluxe remaster with updated graphics and new features is fantastic. The 60 FPS at 4K and real-time lighting effects will definitely make a big difference.

I never got to play the original Dead Rising since it’s older than I am, but this remaster looks amazing. The 4K graphics and 60 FPS are definitely appealing to me. Plus, being able to customize action shots with filters sounds like a lot of fun. I’m really into games with photo modes, so this is right up my alley. The fact that all interactions are fully voiced will make it super immersive, too. I’m definitely preordering this one. It’ll be awesome to experience a game that’s a classic for a lot of older gamers.
