Netflix as well known is a global streaming platform. Even though it started streaming Korean dramas on its platform in 2010, it launched in South Korea in 2016. Since then, in addition to streaming Korean dramas, Netflix has begun exploring various aspects of Korean culture via documentaries. They have started a “Rhapsody” series for Kdrama fans like me who start drooling when they see the food. LOL. About the Rhapsody Series The food lover series is intended to trace the origins and evolution of the Korean cuisine that we enjoy today. The man who will be taking you on these culinary travels is Baek Jong-won (or Paik Jong-won). He is a chef, a business owner, and a well-known Korean food expert who has hosted several TV cooking shows. FUN FACT: He made a cameo appearance in “Flex X Cop”. These are the Netflix documentary programs so far: Korean Cold Noodle Rhapsody Korean Fried Chicken Rhapsody Korean Hanwoo Rhapsody Korean Jjajangmyeon Rhapsody Korean Porkbelly Rhapsody The next time you watch a

YESSS! Finally, a documentary dedicated to Korean fried chicken! I swear, it's in every other K-drama I watch, and it always looks incredible. This will be the perfect companion piece to my next Korean food marathon. Can't wait to learn more about the chimaek experience and impress my friends with my newfound knowledge.

This Korean Fried Chicken Rhapsody sounds fascinating! I love learning about different cultures through their food, and Korean fried chicken is definitely a cornerstone of Korean cuisine. Hopefully, the documentary will explore the regional variations and how it's become so popular worldwide.

I love experimenting with different cuisines at home, and Korean fried chicken has always been on my to-do list. Maybe this documentary will finally give me the secrets to achieving that perfect crispy exterior and juicy interior.

Korean fried chicken looks amazing, but sadly, I don't eat meat. I wonder if this documentary will touch on any vegetarian or vegan alternatives? There are some incredible plant-based Korean dishes out there, and a crispy "fried" version of something like jackfruit could be a great addition to the chimaek experience for everyone.

I appreciate how each episode delves into the origins and evolution of these iconic dishes, like naengmyeon, which has such deep roots in Korean traditions. This series is perfect for anyone who wants to understand the cultural context behind their favorite Korean dishes. It’s fascinating to see how these foods are not just meals but symbols of identity and heritage.

Korean fried chicken is one of my absolute favorites, and it’s always fun to learn more about the food you love. The combination of crispy texture and flavorful sauces is just unbeatable. Baek Jong-won’s documentaries are always so detailed, and I’m sure this one will make me appreciate KFC even more. Plus, seeing how it’s enjoyed in social settings with beer or soju really gives you a taste of the culture. I can’t wait to try some new recipes and maybe even plan a trip to Korea to experience it firsthand!

I'm in the USA and I'm from the South. Southern folks in USA got a thing for fried chicken. When pop star Brittney Spears had her wedding, she served fried chicken. None of that gourmet cuisine stuff. That's how much American Southern folks love their fried chicken. LOL. But after I started Korean dramas, I began to look at fried chicken through a brand new lens. LOL.
