“Man in a Veil” is a Korean drama series released in 2020, with 100+ episodes, and can be categorized as Soap Opera, Romance, Family Drama, Crime, and Revenge. ♦ When I Woke Up I Was a Genius In “Man in a Veil”, Lee Tae Poong is “mentally challenged”. An accident happened to him when he was young. He’s slow but that does not mean he’s stupid. However, because he is so innocent and so easy to take advantage of, evil people will try to take everything away from him. His mother is a widower but she is kind of wealthy. The doctors told her she has a terminal illness and she wants to make sure that her son will be cared for when she is gone. If only she and her son were not surrounded by evil people. Lee Tae Poong’s mother wants to build a home that cares for the disabled and the handicapped. She entered this business endeavor with a woman she thought she could trust. But when

A daily drama with revenge as the central theme? Sign me up! I love how Korean dramas can juggle complex storylines with heart-wrenching moments. Lee Tae Poong's journey for justice sounds epic, and the fact that he becomes a lawyer with a genius mind adds a whole new layer to the story. 9 out of 10? I might have to give this one a try!

Who knew a soap opera could teach me something new? Learning about acquired savant syndrome through Tae Poong's transformation was fascinating. It added another layer to his character and made his journey even more compelling. Plus, the revenge plot kept me guessing until the very end.

Man in a Veil was the perfect weekend binge! The story was complex enough to keep me engaged, but not so convoluted that I got lost. The romance subplot was a nice side dish to the main course of revenge and justice. Plus, Kang Eun-Tak's performance as Tae Poong was award-worthy. Definitely checking out his other work now!

Lee Tae Poong's story had me rooting for him the entire time. Such a kind soul taken advantage of, then getting a second chance at life with his newfound genius? Come on, how can you not cheer him on? The show definitely took its time getting to the answers, but the payoff was worth it. Maybe a little too melodramatic at times, but overall, a heartwarming story of resilience.

There's just something about the complex web of relationships and the slow burn of Tae Poong's revenge that keeps me engaged. Plus, I love spotting new details each time I watch. It's not perfect, but for me, it's a comfort drama filled with unforgettable characters and a story that stays with you long after the finale

Man oh man! When he woke up and he was a genius, I was like … Oh yeah! Let's go get those dirtbags! I don't know much about Acquired Savant Syndrome, but I think it might be cool if it happened to me in real life. Wouldn't you love to wake up and find out that you're a genius?? LOL.
