Eternally Yours: CBS’s New Vampire Sitcom Looks Like a Bloody Good Time

What interests me most is the idea of immortality becoming boring. That is not something vampire shows usually focus on. Charles and Liz have been together for 500 years, and apparently they still have the same relationship problems people have after five years. Jesse sees eternal marriage as something he needs to avoid completely, which is another funny angle. Emma has the opposite situation because she could actually fall in love with someone who will grow old while she stays young. That could give the show some more serious moments without turning it into a drama. I hope they do not avoid those parts completely. Sitcoms work better for me when the characters actually care about each other underneath all the jokes. The vampire rules also sound useful because they give the writers some simple problems to build episodes around. I am interested enough to give it a fair chance.
