Brazilian Ratings Board Seemingly Leaks Name Of Unannounced Metroid Game

Prime 4 left a lot of fans divided, so another Metroid game could be a good chance to rebuild some excitement. Doesn't really matter whether it's 2D or 3D as long as the gameplay feels polished. Samus has always been one of Nintendo's strongest characters, so it would be a shame if the series slowed down again.

Skeptic mode stays on until Nintendo says something official. That is just where my head is with game leaks now. Ratings board listings are interesting, but they are not the same thing as proof of a finished game landing on shelves. Still, if this is real, then the 2026 date is the most useful part of the rumor. It suggests the project is far enough along to exist in a real way. That matters. As for the title, “Ravenous” sounds more aggressive than a normal Metroid subtitle, so maybe the team is pushing the tone harder this time. That would be nice. The series works better when it feels dangerous instead of merely polished.

There is something funny about how Metroid keeps getting treated like a series on life support whenever there is a rough patch. Fans do this every time. One game disappoints people and suddenly the whole franchise is supposedly in trouble. That feels overdone to me. If Ravenous is real, it shows Nintendo is still willing to put out another entry instead of shelving Samus. That matters more than people admit. The rating board detail is the strongest thing here, even if it still needs confirmation. Also, the fact that Nintendo now reveals games close to release means this kind of leak is more believable than it used to be. My guess is we hear more sooner than later.

Could be real, could be noise, but the title alone makes me curious. “Metroid Ravenous” sounds like something that would lean more into survival horror than pure action, and that is a good direction for the series. Metroid works best when it gives that isolated, uneasy feeling. That is the part that sticks with me. I also like the idea of Nintendo revealing it late, because that would fit how they handle a lot of games now. It is annoying for fans, but believable. If this is a 2D game, then even better. Those entries usually get straight to the point and focus on movement and discovery instead of trying to be everything at once.
