Netflix Disgorges A Ton Of Anime Trailers

Looks like Netflix is really diving deep into the anime world! I'm curious to see how these original productions stack up against established titles. Their recent efforts have been hit or miss for me, but I did enjoy "Castlevania" and "Blood of Zeus." I wonder if they'll find a way to capture that same magic with these new trailers. Anyone else got their eye on any specific titles from the batch?

The biggest surprise for me is The Ribbon Hero. I know Princess Knight is an old classic, so seeing a modern version makes me curious. I like when old stories get updated instead of getting copied scene by scene. If they keep the main idea while adding something new, I think it could work really well. The giant ribbon is definitely going to make the character stand out too.

Fool Night has one of the strangest anime ideas I've heard in a while. People becoming plants because the Earth is running out of oxygen is something I never expected. It sounds depressing, but that's also why I'm interested. Not every anime has to be cheerful. Sometimes I want something that makes me think about the world and the choices people have to make. Having Sunrise and Shaft work together also makes me expect something visually different. I hope Netflix doesn't leave us waiting too long because that's probably the one I'm looking forward to the most.

Bass X Machina sounds cool, but I wish they showed more than one picture. It's hard to get excited without even a short teaser. The setting has a lot of potential though. A sheriff dealing with monsters and robots already sounds like something I'd watch. Hopefully they release a trailer soon because I want to see what the animation actually looks like.

I'm actually more excited for Sparks of Tomorrow than the bigger names. Steampunk Japan already sounds interesting, and adding the discovery of electricity makes the story feel different from the usual action anime. I also like that it's coming out soon instead of making people wait for months. If the characters are written well, I think this could end up being one of Netflix's better original series. Sometimes the shows with the least hype end up being the ones I enjoy the most.
