The Reiwa era has not been kind to tokusatsu: Netflix Ultraman and Gamera Rebirth being the worst things in their franchise, Godzilla Minus One being mediocre at best schlock that hypnotized the oscars, the Ultraman franchise unable to regain its former glory, Kamen Rider Gavv failing so hard, the obvious cash grab called Fuuto PI, Super Sentai being unable to make anything worth a damn since Kirameiger, all the while Ruby Gillman and the MonsterVerse remembers what the hell tokusatsu is all about. Anime has been no different with a plethora of trash: the continuations of Trigger's atrocious Gridman revival, Go Go Loser Ranger, Red Ranger Isekai, Ganglion, Tojima Wants To Be A Kamen Rider, all of them sucked ass like a felcher except for Kuroitsu From The Monster Development Department. Damn shame because outside of the putrid Bullbuster from two years back mecha anime has been going strong. In this time of desperation Pony Canyon is looking to the manga Kaiju Girl Caramelise, hoping it's not a genre equivalent of putting a chick in it and making it lame and gay. Now we have a trailer and a 2026 release.
