Omg, "The Last Empress" is SUCH a wild ride!!! 😱💖 Like, the plot twists had me on the edge of my seat! I was fully screaming at the screen when things got super intense. And can we talk about the love triangle?! 🤯 I was totally rooting for the second lead, like HELP! 🥺 Why do they always make my heart hurt like this?!

Also, Jun Ji Hyun was an absolute QUEEN in this! 👑 I was living for all her fierce moments. What did you think of the ending? I was like bawling while trying to figure out what just happened! 😂💔 On a scale of 1 to 10, how obsessed are we with this drama?!

Gurl, I like how Oh Sunny starts very soft and trusting, then slowly becomes strong without turning into a completely different person. For me, that change felt natural. The emperor is really frustrating to watch because he keeps acting powerful but still listens to his mother like a scared kid. That part made me annoyed but also interested. I also think the bodyguard storyline is one of the best parts because his revenge feels real and personal. The palace setting looks fancy but everything inside is dirty and tense. I would not call it perfect because some parts feel too dramatic, but I understand that is the style. I stayed until the end because I wanted to see them expose everything.

The story is interesting but sometimes it feels too extreme for me. Every episode adds another secret or crime, and it becomes tiring. Still, I respect how bold it is. The characters are not simple at all. The mistress is very cold, and I was surprised how far she goes just to protect herself. I did like Oh Sunny though. She is not stupid, just too trusting at first. I think if someone enjoys intense drama with many twists, this is a good choice. For me, I prefer something more balanced. But I understand why many people rate it high because it keeps giving big moments again and again.

What I like most here is the idea that the palace is not safe at all. Usually royal stories try to look elegant, but this one shows how power can destroy people. I watched this with my sister, and we kept talking about how nobody in the palace can be trusted. Even small scenes feel tense because you expect betrayal anytime. The emperor is honestly one of the worst characters I have seen, not because he is badly written, but because he feels real in a negative way. He abuses his position and still thinks he is right. The bodyguard and Oh Sunny working together is satisfying to watch. I think their teamwork is what made me finish the drama. Without that, it would feel too heavy.

I did not expect the dark comedy part when I started this series. Some scenes are so serious, then suddenly something happens that feels almost ridiculous. At first I thought it did not fit, but later I got used to it. It makes the show feel different from other revenge dramas. I also like how the female characters are very strong, even the villains. They are not just supporting roles. The Empress Dowager is honestly scary. Every time she appears, I feel nervous. I think the acting carries a lot of the story because the plot can get messy. Still, I enjoyed the experience overall. It is not something I would rewatch many times, but it left a strong impression on me.

I finished all episodes, and I can say this drama really tests your patience. There are moments when I felt angry at almost every character. But at the same time, I could not stop watching. That says something about how engaging it is. The revenge story of Na Wang-Sik is very clear and easy to follow, which helped me stay focused when the palace politics got confusing. I also liked how Oh Sunny did not give up even after being framed. That part was very satisfying. Some plot points feel unrealistic, but I think the show knows that and just goes all in. If you accept that style, it becomes enjoyable.

I am more interested in the villain side, so I paid a lot of attention to Min Yoo-Ra. She is very calculated and always thinking ahead. I do not support her actions, but I understand her fear of losing power. That makes her more interesting than a simple evil character. The way she handles problems is very direct and sometimes shocking. I think she is one of the reasons the drama stays intense. Without her, the story would feel weaker. I also noticed that many characters make bad decisions, but that is what creates the chaos. It can be frustrating, but also realistic in a way.

For me, the strongest part is Oh Sunny’s growth. She starts as someone who believes in fairy tale love, and then reality hits her hard. I respect how she does not completely break. Instead, she learns and fights back. That kind of character development is what I look for. I also think the show sends a clear message about power and responsibility. When people in power act without limits, everyone around them suffers. The drama shows that clearly through many characters. Some scenes are difficult to watch, but they help build that message.
