DC’s Summer Of Supergirl Continues With A Special Literally Called That

Honestly happy about this. Supergirl doesn’t get enough solo stuff so a whole summer event is great. The flagship special sounds solid – Lobo in her hometown is going to create some good conflict. Three different creative teams means variety, which is nice. Excited for the Simone and Waid parts especially. The reprints help bring in new fans too. Plus the artbook and Elseworlds? Extra treats. Shops will be packed with her face. Perfect buildup for the movie. I’m supporting this 100%.

Oh man, I am so pumped for the Summer of Supergirl! 🦸‍♀️ It’s about time she gets the spotlight she deserves. I can’t wait to see what stories they come up with and how they’ll explore her character. It’s always fun to see more of the Girl of Steel in action. Any predictions on what might happen in these new titles?

DC is really going all in on Supergirl this summer. I like that they are mixing new stories with reprints because not everyone read the old stuff. The special sounds cool with three different writers – Sophie Campbell doing Lobo in Midvale is perfect because she draws tough characters so well. I hope the other two stories by Waid and Simone give Kara some real depth, not just action. Lobo’s daughter on the cover is interesting, maybe they are teasing something bigger. Anyway, June 24 can’t come fast enough. I’m buying this one for sure, and probably the Woman of Tomorrow artbook too. Supergirl deserves this push, especially with the movie coming.

Finally some good Supergirl news. Been waiting for more original stuff instead of just old reprints. This 48-page special looks strong – Lobo showing up in Midvale? That’s going to be chaotic and fun. I trust Sophie Campbell to make it feel personal. The other stories sound like they are building Kara as the true heir, which we need after all the movie hype. Variant covers are nice too, I might grab one. DC knows how to flood the shops when they want to. Hope this leads to a new ongoing series after the movie.

This is exactly what Supergirl fans needed. A big special with multiple stories celebrating her and her friends from the movie. Lobo in Midvale is a wild choice but I’m here for it – he always brings trouble. Excited for Gail Simone’s story, she writes women so naturally. Mark Waid too, he gets classic heroes. The reprints are fine for new readers, but this original one is the main event. June release is perfect timing. DC is smart to make sure everyone sees Supergirl everywhere before the film drops.

Okay, I’m not the biggest Supergirl fan but even I think this looks decent. Three stories in one book is good value. Lobo coming to her hometown could be funny or serious, depends how they write it. His daughter on the cover makes me curious if she’s important later. The “heir to El” line is nice, gives Kara more weight. I’ll probably pick it up if the art is solid. At least DC is trying hard with all these books and variants. Better than ignoring her completely.

Love this. Supergirl getting the spotlight she deserves. The special sounds like a real love letter to the character with different creators involved. Sophie Campbell and Belén Ortega on the Lobo story? Yes please, their styles match that energy. Waid and Simone are safe hands too. I’m glad it’s not all reprints – this one being original makes it special. Plus all the other tie-ins like the Elseworlds and the artbook. Comic shops are going to be full of Supergirl in June. Good move by DC.

Eh, another event tie-in. Supergirl summer sounds forced but I’ll give it a chance. The special has potential with three stories, especially if they focus on her friends from the movie. Lobo in Midvale is random but could be entertaining if they don’t make him too silly. I like that they mention she’s the heir again – stop treating her like sidekick. Still, mostly reprints in the rest of the lineup feels lazy. Hope the new stuff is actually good and not just hype.

Yes! More Supergirl comics right before the movie is smart. This special is the one I’m most excited for – 48 pages with Lobo causing problems in her old town? Sign me up. His daughter being there is a nice touch, maybe family drama. The other two stories better deliver too because Waid and Simone know how to write her right. All the variants and extra books mean she’s everywhere, which is what she needs. Been a long time since Kara got this much attention. Buying day one.
