“Dear X” is a dark psychological thriller released in 2025 that has gained immense popularity. Often, after a K-drama addict (like me) watches a moody, intense drama like that, there’s a search for another Korean drama that lightens the mood and makes you want to chill. Dear X ~ A Haunting Love Mystery That Redefines K-Drama Thrillers | PopGeeks.com Here are four (4) “Dear” K-dramas that are nothing like “Dear X”. All streaming on Viki. Enjoy!

I really like how "Dear X Who Doesn’t Love Me" brings a bit of fantasy into a normal college drama. The idea of the notebook that makes people fall in love is so simple but kinda deep when you think about it. The protagonist, Seo Hee-soo, starts off shy and insecure, and the drama uses this magical notebook to show how dangerous it can be to chase after popularity or love in the wrong way. I think it’s a good reminder that true love and self-worth come from real connections, not just what’s convenient. Honestly, the way they mix a bit of magic with real-life lessons makes it fun to watch. Plus, the characters are all pretty relatable, which makes the drama easy to connect with. Would recommend it for anyone who’s into rom-coms with a little twist!

"Dear M" sounds like the type of drama I’d binge on a weekend when I’m in the mood for a light-hearted mystery. The idea of an anonymous confession going viral at a college is such a fun setup. I love how it turns into this mix of first loves and misunderstandings between the main characters. It’s kinda like watching your own high school drama unfold, but with a lot more layers. There’s also something about seeing college life in K-dramas that I find refreshing. The characters seem like they each have their own struggles, but I’m most curious about how they all grow and change as they solve the mystery. Definitely up my alley for some easy, fun watching.

Gong Shim’s story in "Dear Fair Lady Kong Shim" definitely hits close to home for a lot of people. The idea of living in someone else’s shadow, especially with family dynamics being as messed up as they are, is something a lot of viewers can relate to. What I really like about the story is how Gong Shim doesn’t just accept things as they are. She fights back, especially when it comes to standing up for herself and demanding respect, even when her family tries to sweep things under the rug. Her relationship with Dan-Tae is also intriguing. He seems like an oddball, but I bet he’s going to help her find her way. The whole chaebol heir subplot adds some drama, but I think Gong Shim’s personal journey is what’s really going to pull me in.
