Rakuten Viki offers both subscriptions and rentals. At their official site they regularly publish a category for “Top 10 Rentals”. A subscriber might be curious as to why they have to pay a rental fee when they are already being charged a monthly fee. The answer is: Licensing restrictions. For certain titles, Viki only has limited streaming rights. The distributors or studios only make them available to stream through a rental or pay-per-view model. Sometimes a drama might be available for rental first, and later become part of the subscription catalog after a set period. Additionally, rentals let non-subscribers watch a specific show or movie without committing to a monthly plan. Now that you understand the business logic, below are two (2) rental Korean dramas, released in October 2025. (Rental fee ranges from $.99 to $4.99.)

Wait, so we’re talking about dramas from 2025 already? I’m intrigued! But also, is it just me or does the whole rental thing feel like a sneaky way to get more of our money? 😂 I mean, if I’m already subscribed, I expect to binge without extra fees!

But hey, if the dramas are good enough, I might just bite the bullet. What are the titles? Convince me before I waste my precious time!

What makes Pretty Crazy stand out for me is its ability to balance the supernatural with the everyday life of its characters. Gil Gu's loneliness is something I think a lot of viewers can relate to. But it’s the twist with Seon Ji's condition that gives the show its unique angle. The drama doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is refreshing. A lot of K-dramas have this heavy emotional weight, but this one is more lighthearted while still offering a bit of mystery and suspense. It’s the perfect blend of romance and fantasy. Not every K-drama needs to be deeply emotional; sometimes it’s nice to watch something fun with a touch of intrigue.

The moment I saw Hi-Five’s description, I was hooked. Organ transplants that give people powers? That’s a fresh twist! I love the way they’re blending fantasy, action, and some personal drama. The characters’ different personalities should make for some fun and tense team dynamics, especially when they face off against the villain, Yeong Chun. The supernatural elements are what really caught my attention. It’s got a bit of everything: action, mystery, and even a bit of humor. This is definitely a drama I can get invested in, and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds.

I think Pretty Crazy has a lot of potential. It starts off a little slow, but there’s something charming about the way the characters develop. The idea of a woman having no control over her night-time behavior is a clever hook, and I feel like there’s so much more to uncover about Seon Ji's condition. It’s got a mix of light comedy, romance, and a little bit of suspense, which I enjoy. I like that it’s different from the usual K-drama formula. Hopefully, as it goes on, we’ll see more depth in the story.

I tried both of these dramas, and honestly, I think Hi-Five has a bit more to offer if you're looking for something exciting. There’s a lot of potential with the supernatural abilities and the team dynamics. Pretty Crazy, though, isn’t bad either. It’s just a bit more niche. If you're into something that feels like a fun, light watch without too much intensity, it’s perfect for that. But if you're craving action and drama with a twist, Hi-Five should be your go-to.
