Chun-Li’s Debut in Fatal Fury: City of Wolves: The First Lady of Fighting Games Meets the Original Queen of Fighters The fighting game world is buzzing with excitement thanks to Capcom and SNK’s character exchange program. This exciting collaboration has already seen Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui make their mark in Street Fighter VI. Now, it’s Chun-Li’s turn to step into the ring in Fatal Fury: City of Wolves. Alongside her is Ken Masters, who already debuted earlier in the game as part of this crossover. The First Lady of Fighting Games is about to make her long-awaited entrance into the world of SNK. But she’s not coming alone. Her legendary rival, Mai Shiranui, will be waiting for her. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves x Street Fighter – Official Chun-Li Trailer Chun-Li’s place in fighting game history is unparalleled. As the first female character to be playable in a fighting game, she earned the title of First Lady of Fighting Games when she debuted in Street Fighter II. Chun-Li entering the Fatal Fury universe is something I never thought I’d see. It’s great how Capcom and SNK are blending their characters together. But what I’m really excited about is the clash between Chun-Li and Mai. Both are iconic in their own right, and their rivalry has been teased for years. I think Chun-Li brings something unique to the Fatal Fury world, not just in terms of her fighting style but her attitude. Her calm confidence will definitely challenge Mai’s fiery personality. Can’t wait to see how they interact and what kind of new moves Chun-Li will bring!

Enough with the teasing, Capcom and SNK. We’ve been getting bits and pieces of crossover action for years now, and honestly, it’s time to stop holding back. Capcom vs. SNK 3 is long overdue. We've seen enough of these character exchanges, but nothing beats the full-blown chaos that a proper Capcom vs. SNK game brings. It’s the ultimate crossover, and the fans have been asking for it for way too long. Stop playing with us and just give us the game we all want. Full rosters, insane matchups, and no more holding back. Let’s get that third installment out and settle this rivalry once and for all. The hype would be unreal.

I’m not sure why they chose to make Chun-Li look like this here. Her proportions seem a bit off. She has that small waist and slim upper body, but then her legs are just… enormous. It’s like they turned her thighs into something over the top. I get that they want to emphasize her strength, but this design just looks weird to me. Her legs are almost comically big, like rotisserie turkey legs.

I don’t expect Chun-Li to be slim, especially at her age. Her legs are supposed to be strong, and with her being in her 50s, it makes sense that she’s not going to have that youthful, slender look anymore. The thick legs reflect the years of intense training and fighting, and I think that’s important to show. It’s just the way her strength is visualized. Of course, her proportions here are a little extreme, but I get why they did it. A woman in her 50s who’s a martial arts icon wouldn’t have the same physique as she did in her 20s, and they’ve clearly played up her power with that.

It’s funny how much has changed since the Street Fighter vs. Fatal Fury days. I remember thinking the SNK vs. Capcom games were the peak of fighting game crossovers, but now, with characters like Chun-Li and Mai interacting again, it feels like we’re in for something even bigger. I’m actually more curious about how they’ll balance the characters’ powers and personalities. Chun-Li has a calm, calculated nature, whereas Mai is all fire and energy. The contrast could make for some interesting interactions, and I hope they lean into that in the story and fights. I’m definitely excited to see this one.

It really seems like Chun-Li is better programmed in Fatal Fury than in Street Fighter VI. Despite having the same moveset, she actually looks more fun to play here. I don’t know if it’s the pacing of the game or the way her moves flow in Fatal Fury, but she feels smoother and more accessible. In Street Fighter VI, they really made her difficult to use, and I’m not the only one who feels that way. It feels like you need to be at the top of your game just to get her basic moves right, which isn’t the most fun for casual players. Here, in Fatal Fury, her moveset is just as powerful, but it seems like she’s been tweaked to be more enjoyable and easier to pull off in the heat of battle. It’s a nice change, and I think fans are going to appreciate this version of Chun-Li a lot more.

Chun-Li vs B. Jennet is going to be an insane matchup! Both of them are fast kickers, so it's going to be all about speed and control. Chun-Li’s Spinning Bird Kick and Tenshokyaku are perfect for catching fast opponents, and B. Jennet’s quick, unpredictable kicks are going to make it a challenge for Chun-Li to get her hits in. I can already imagine the crazy back-and-forth between these two—both of them using speed to their advantage. It’s going to be a real test of who can control the pace of the match. If B. Jennet can keep Chun-Li on her toes, it could go either way, but if Chun-Li can land some of those big, powerful kicks, she could dominate. Definitely looking forward to this fight!

I think it’s cool that Chun-Li is joining Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, but I’m also wondering how they’re going to handle her moveset. The new Feint Kikoken combo looks promising, but I miss her Street Fighter 6 Serenity Stream stance. I get that each game has to do its own thing, but that was such a standout part of her gameplay. I’m glad she gets her classic outfit, though—gotta keep the nostalgia alive. I’m definitely looking forward to the Winter release to see if they make her feel more unique than just another Street Fighter fighter.

It’s interesting seeing Chun-Li in Fatal Fury after all these years. I like the little nod to SVC Chaos with the chest bump between her and Mai.
