Stranger Things 5: The Big, Booming, Exploding Trailer Of Pain

We put our estimate on the big trailer for Stranger Things 5 showing up on November 6, a day Netflix has declared in the past to be “Stranger Things Day.” That, or Halloween. We weren’t expecting the day BEFORE Halloween; just some Thursday. How random. But here it is. This is the first sneak peek where you can really see where the budget went! Lots of big explosions, Demos tearing soldiers apart, Upside Down thunderstorms, it’s a real tour-de-force of blue clouds and pink lightning. Sure hope our heroes can turn things around, cause wow, everyone looks miserable. Multiple actors are seen crying; no one looks like they have any hope left. And poor Will. Poor, poor Will. This trailer’s release was accompanied by quotes from all the major actors in the series. Here’s what they had to say about the state of their characters going in, along with my thoughts: “Eleven is in training mode. She’s in a warrior state, which is the first time you see Eleven like that at the beginning of a season. As for her mindset, all she is thinking about is protecting her friends. Her friends are her chosen family, so she will do […]

It feels strange to realize how long we’ve been following these kids grow up. Seeing the Stranger Things 5 trailer made me feel both excited and a bit sad. Everyone looks older and more broken, and the tone is so heavy compared to the early days of bikes and D&D. The visuals are impressive, but it almost feels like too much now — too big, too loud. What still keeps me invested is Will’s story. He started everything, and it feels right that the final season is circling back to him and Vecna. I just hope it ends in a way that feels human, not just a visual explosion.

I think they went overboard with the trailer. It looks amazing visually, but I miss the quiet, eerie mystery that made the first season special. Now it’s all explosions and chaos. I’ll still watch it, though, because I want to see how Max’s story continues. Sadie Sink gave one of the best performances in Season 4, and I want her to get a proper ending.

I like that the trailer shows the emotional exhaustion of the characters. It gives a sense that this is really the final battle. Eleven being in “warrior mode” sounds perfect, but I hope they don’t make her just a weapon. I want to see her doubt, her humanity. Also, Will and Vecna being somehow connected again is such a good way to close the circle.

When I saw the trailer, my first thought was “they’re really ending it with fireworks.” Literally. It’s loud, dark, and feels like everything is falling apart. I’m worried they might go too far with the CGI and forget about the story. But I can’t lie — seeing all of them together again gave me goosebumps. I’ve been watching since 2016. This show is part of my life now.

The schedule is interesting — releasing half the season on November 26, then continuing through the holidays. That actually makes sense. Everyone will be home, emotional, and ready to binge. I just hope Netflix learned from Season 4’s pacing. They dragged some scenes too long. This time, I want tension but also resolution.

I think they’re being smart by keeping the plot details secret. It builds mystery again. Will’s role seems important, and Noah Schnapp has grown a lot as an actor. I hope they give him closure that feels earned. The show owes Will a real moment of peace after everything he’s been through.

Honestly, I don’t care how many explosions they put. I’m here for Max. She was the best part of the last season, and her hospital scene broke my heart. If she comes back changed, I want it to mean something. Maybe she becomes something between life and death, like a bridge to the Upside Down.

It’s weird seeing this trailer now, knowing this is probably the last time we’ll see these characters together. I started watching when I was still in school, and now I’m an adult. Seeing them exhausted, crying, and fighting feels personal in some way. I just want it to end with some kind of peace — not just survival, but closure.
