Honestly, I don’t get why people keep falling for this kind of story. It’s well-made, yes, but it’s just another revenge fantasy. Powerful people being evil. Poor person rises up. Betrayal, secrets, tragedy. The acting was solid, but by episode 10, I could predict everything. The twist with Na Mo-hyun? Too convenient.

What touched me the most was the scene where Pil-joo realizes who Na Mo-hyun really is. That moment broke my heart. He had lived his whole life for revenge, only to find out the person he was using was the only one who had ever shown him kindness. I cried. There’s something very honest about that emotional conflict. I know some say the plot is unrealistic, but the feelings are very real. The pain of betrayal, the weight of secrets, the regret—you can feel it all through Jang Hyuk’s performance. I believe this drama isn’t just about revenge. It’s about how the past follows you, and how kindness, even small, can change someone.

I think this show reveals how political and business elites can use people like chess pieces. The marriage arrangement part is not far from reality. That’s how influence works in many societies. Marrying off your daughter to gain power—some might call it outdated, but it still happens in different ways. What made “Money Flower” interesting is how it merges politics, economy, and family into one structure of control. The characters are tools in a bigger game. Even Pil-joo, who thought he was using others, was also trapped in a system that doesn’t let people escape easily.

This was my first K-drama and it made me feel so many things. I didn’t understand everything at first, especially the family structure, but the emotions were very clear. I liked Na Mo-hyun. She was kind and always thought about others. I hoped she and Pil-joo could be happy in the end. But then everything got so complicated. Why are rich families always so mean in these stories? Pil-joo seemed like a nice man, even though he was doing bad things. I hope one day he can forgive himself.
