Fairy Tail has some of the best character designs in shonen manga, so I’m really happy about this! Hiro Mashima’s artwork improved a lot over the years, and it’s nice to have a book that celebrates his progress. He puts so much energy into his work, and I love how expressive his characters are. I hope this art book includes illustrations from his Twitter sketches too—those were always fun.

Mashima’s use of color is really striking, and his character designs are so dynamic. Having a book like this is useful for artists who want to analyze professional-level illustrations. I hope they include some step-by-step process images so we can see how he builds his compositions.
