You might think Games Done Quick only runs its charity marathons twice a year, but there’s a spinoff now that fills the gap: Frame Fatales, a speedrun that consists of just female gamers. The GDQ proper they run two marathons per year: Frost Fatales at the end of winter, and Flame Fatales at the end of summer. The 2025 Frost Fatales marathon begins tomorrow and runs all week. Proceeds benefit the National Women’s Law Center. The difference between this and the main GDQ marathon, aside from the focus on women, is that it doesn’t run 24 hours per day. Each day of Frost Fatales will begin at around 9:30 AM Pacific / 12:30 PM Eastern and conclude twelve hours later at 9:30 PM 12:30 AM. But a lot will be packed into those seven days: scheduled speedruns start with Cuphead, Super Mario Odyssey, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, and the original Legend of Zelda on just the first day. Highlights through the week include Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble, Cult of the Lamb, Devil May Cry, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild, Tunic, Psychonauts, Sonic Mania, Balatro, Final Fantasy X-2, a “horror block” on Tuesday featuring Amnesia and Resident Evil 4, and finally, Celeste on the evening of March 15. Check out the full schedule through this link. The National Women’s Law Center is an organization that represents gender justice in the courts, public policy, and society. Their goal is to repair imbalances in the justice system that affect women, particularly women of color, LGBTQ people and low-income women and families. This is Frost Fatales’ second marathon benefiting the NWLC. You’ll be able to watch Frost Fatales on the regular GDQ Twitch channel live, and catch up on the runs separately as they’re uploaded to the GDQ archive on YouTube. Frost Fatales begins Sunday, March 9 and runs through Saturday, March 15.

. The lineup with Cuphead and Super Mario Odyssey on day one already has me hooked, and I’m curious how they’ll tackle Breath of the Wild later in the week. Supporting the National Women’s Law Center feels like a bonus—gender justice matters, and I’m glad my viewing time can contribute to that. I’ll definitely be tuning in on Twitch when I can, even if it’s not 24 hours like the main GDQ. Can’t wait to see those skills in action!

I love that it’s women-only—it’s not just about the games but about giving a platform to talent that doesn’t always get the spotlight. The schedule is packed with gems like Kingdom Hearts and Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which I’ve played myself, so I’m eager to see how the runners optimize them. The National Women’s Law Center cause hits home for me; I’ve seen firsthand how the justice system can fail women, especially those in marginalized groups. Knowing my time watching contributes to that fight feels empowering. I’ll be up at 9:30 AM Pacific tomorrow, coffee in hand, ready for Cuphead. The horror block on Tuesday sounds thrilling too—Resident Evil 4 is a classic. GDQ’s YouTube archive is a lifesaver since I can’t catch every minute live. This event proves gaming can be fun and meaningful.

Frost Fatales is back, and I’m here for it! I don’t always watch speedruns, but I like how this one’s focused on women gamers—about time they got their own stage. The game list is solid; Super Monkey Ball and Sonic Mania sound like pure chaos in the best way. I’m not super into the charity side, but the National Women’s Law Center seems like a decent pick—helping women in court and all that. I’ll probably catch a few runs live on Twitch since it’s only 12 hours a day, which is way more doable than the main GDQ marathons. Celeste on the last day might be the highlight for me; that game’s brutal, and I respect anyone who can blaze through it. Should be a good week of gaming.

I’m genuinely impressed by Frost Fatales every year. As someone who works in tech, I see how women are often overlooked, so this marathon feels like a quiet rebellion in the gaming world. The lineup is stellar—starting with Cuphead is bold, and I can’t wait to see Psychonauts later on. I’ve always thought speedrunning takes a wild mix of skill and patience, and I’m excited to watch these women show it off. The National Women’s Law Center tie-in is perfect too; I’ve read up on their work, and fixing systemic issues for women, especially low-income and LGBTQ folks, is critical. I’ll be watching live when I can swing it—12:30 PM Eastern isn’t too bad for my schedule. The horror block with Amnesia has me intrigued since I’m a sucker for creepy games. If I miss anything, YouTube’s got my back. This event’s a win for gaming and justice, and I’m proud to support it.

Frost Fatales sounds cool, I guess. I’m not a huge speedrun fan, but I’ll probably check it out since it’s on Twitch starting tomorrow. Women-only is an interesting angle—makes it stand out from the usual GDQ stuff. Games like Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild are on my radar; I’ve played them casually, so seeing them shredded might be fun. The National Women’s Law Center thing is fine—good cause, I suppose, though I don’t know much about it. Twelve hours a day is more manageable than the nonstop marathons, so I might catch a bit after work. Celeste on the last day could be worth staying up for. I’ll see how it goes.

Frost Fatales is starting Sunday, and I’m stoked! I love that it’s all women speedrunners—it’s a nice change from the usual gaming crowd. The lineup’s got some bangers like Final Fantasy X-2 and Tunic, which I’ve got a soft spot for. The National Women’s Law Center angle is cool too; justice for women’s issues isn’t something you see every day in gaming. I’ll be watching live when I can—12:30 PM Eastern works for me—and the 12-hour days won’t kill my schedule. That horror block on Tuesday sounds intense; Resident Evil 4 always creeps me out. Should be a solid week of runs!

Frost Fatales is kicking off tomorrow, and I’m pretty intrigued! I don’t watch speedruns often, but an all-women lineup feels fresh and worth checking out. The games—Super Mario Odyssey, Celeste, and that Resident Evil 4 horror block—sound like a wild mix, and I’m curious to see how they pull it off. The National Women’s Law Center tie-in is a nice touch; I’ve heard about their work on gender justice, and it seems like a solid cause. I’ll probably catch some of it live on Twitch at 12:30 PM Eastern since the 12-hour days won’t wreck my sleep. Might even stick around for Breath of the Wild later in the week. Looks like a fun event!
