This tax season, why not shrug off the deadline in style by watching a Valentine’s day themed violent comedy-horror slasher instead? On April 15, Sony Pictures’ Heart Eyes will make its Blu-Ray debut. This is still playing in some theaters, actually — Valentine’s Day wasn’t that long ago, and Sony figured audiences were in the mood for something a little more unconventional. Heart Eyes didn’t do THAT well (probably why it’s coming to home video so soon), but it didn’t bomb either. So, what’s this thing about? If you guessed “a serial killer who wears a mask with LED hearts over the eyes,” you’d be right, but you’re also a cheater since all you did was look at the box art. The real stars of Heart Eyes are the “couple” at its center. Heart Eyes wracks his/her/their vengeance every February 14 by going after romantic lovers. But he/she/they kinda goofed this time: the pair he’s trying to kill don’t really like each other, they’re just stuck together at work one evening. WILL they fall in love? I mean probably, why would the story turn out any other way, but they may have to survive a lot of murder attempts to get there. Heart Eyes was written and produced by one of our favorite modern movie makers, Christopher Landon — he was responsible for the awesome Happy Death Day movies as well as Freaky. You can sense a pattern from this guy — horror-comedies with slasher antagonists are his niche, but it’s a niche he works well. Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding play the main characters; the identity of Heart Eyes is a mystery. When you open the Blu-Ray to this film, here’s what you get: BLU-RAY™ & DIGITAL EXTRAS Murders & Meet Cutes: The Making of Heart Eyes Gag Reel Deleted & Extended Scenes Filmmaker Commentary DVD EXTRAS Murders & Meet Cutes: The Making of Heart Eyes Filmmaker Commentary Note that these extras also apply to the digital version, which comes out today. But the physical version of Heart Eyes slashes its way to your heart April 15.

Honestly, I'm a bit surprised they're pushing this so quickly to Blu-ray. It felt like it barely had a moment in theaters. I did catch it, and while it wasn't a masterpiece, it was certainly entertaining. I appreciate Christopher Landon's style; he knows how to blend horror and humor effectively. The premise, while simple, worked well enough. I'm curious about the deleted scenes, though. I felt some of the character development was a bit rushed, so perhaps those scenes will add some depth. I'm not sure if I'd buy the Blu-ray, but I'll definitely check out the digital extras. I think it is important to see how they made the film. The commentary might be interesting.

I thought it was a decent enough way to spend an evening. The story was predictable, but that's not always a bad thing. Sometimes you just want something straightforward and fun. I think the concept of the killer was a bit silly, but it worked in the context of the movie. I am not sure if I will buy it.

I watched it. I thought it was okay. I like the actors. I think the story was a little bit simple.

I have to say, I'm a fan of Christopher Landon's work, so I was looking forward to this. While I don't think it's his best, it was still enjoyable. The blend of horror and comedy is a delicate balance, and he usually gets it right. I'm especially interested in the "Making of" featurette. I like to see the process behind these kinds of films. I am going to buy the blu-ray.

I found the movie to be a bit of a mixed bag. The concept was interesting, but the execution felt a little uneven. The humor didn't always land for me, and some of the horror elements felt a bit forced. However, I did enjoy the performances of the lead actors. I think they had good chemistry, which helped to carry the film. I would watch it again.

I think the movie was a good example of a modern slasher film. It was self-aware and had a good sense of humor. I think it is a good movie for people who like horror comedies. I think the Blu-ray extras look interesting. I think I will buy the Blu-ray. I always enjoy seeing the behind-the-scenes aspects of filmmaking. I feel like it adds another layer to the experience. Especially the gag reel.

I watched this movie. I thought that it was a silly movie. I do not think that it was a very good movie. I did not like the killer's mask. I thought that it was a stupid mask. I did not like the actors. I thought that they were bad actors. I did not like the story. I thought that it was a stupid story. I will not buy the blu-ray. I did not like the movie.

I am a bit of a film buff, and I always like to analyze the director's style. Christopher Landon has definitely carved out a specific niche for himself. I think the key to his success is that he doesn't take himself too seriously. He understands that these movies are meant to be fun, and he delivers on that. I think this movie is a good example of how to make a successful horror-comedy. The plot is simple, but the characters are engaging. I am very interested in the technical side of the film, so the commentary and the making of extras will be something that I will watch closely.

Went to see it with friends, and we had a good time. It was the perfect movie for a casual night out. We all agreed that the killer's mask was a bit ridiculous, but it was also kind of iconic. I think that the movie benefited from having a good cast. I felt that the actors made the film.
