The Last Of Us Season Two Starts This April

One of HBO’s breakout hits is coming back sooner than you think. Their adaption of the Naughty Dog video game The Last Of Us is speeding our way faster than a…….I don’t have an analogy here because Clickers don’t move very fast. You get the idea, it’ll be here in the spring. A teaser announcing the date appeared this week. Critics loved the first season of The Last of Us, praising its storyline….which really wasn’t that different from the game. As adaptions go, it was pretty close, with some scenes taken verbatim from the interactive version. This brief trailer doesn’t reveal if Season 2 will continue in that fashion; however with three seasons promised, and only so much material to work with, it seems almost inevitable they’ll have to come up with new material. I myself have had a copy of The Last of Us Part II lying around for years, but I haven’t gotten around to playing it. I guess I now have four months to start it up if I want to avoid spoilers. (And yes, I know the “twist” already; that was spoiled for me long ago.) The returning cast includes Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey […]

I really hope they don’t just follow the story from the game because we all know how that went in The Last of Us Part II. There was so much backlash, and honestly, forcing players to take control of Abby and then having that boss fight against Ellie was just brutal. I hated that part. All I wanted was to take Abby down while playing as Ellie. The original game was a tough pill to swallow for a lot of fans, so I hope HBO makes some changes to make the storyline more likable this time around. It’d be great to see them adapt it in a way that doesn’t make everyone rage-quit.

Honestly, if I were the actress playing Abby, I’d totally disable my social media accounts while the show is airing, especially during the episode where she’s about to turn Jake’s head into a golf ball. The backlash is bound to be intense, and I wouldn’t want to deal with all the negativity online. It’s just not worth the stress. People can be brutal, and I’d rather focus on my performance than read a bunch of hate comments. Better to just avoid that mess altogether!

I find it pretty weird that the actress playing Abby is actually prettier than the actress playing Ellie. In the game, Abby is portrayed as ugly, and Ellie is supposed to be the cute one. It’s a complete shift from the source material. I get that they’re trying to soften Abby’s image because if the hate she got, but it feels strange to me that they would go with a more attractive actress for a character who was meant to be ugly. It just doesn’t sit right, especially when the characters are so different in the game.

I’ve heard mixed reviews about The Last of Us Part II, but I’m still excited to see how they adapt it for the show. It’ll be interesting to see how they handle some of the more controversial parts of the game!

I really hope HBO takes measures to protect the actress playing Abby. The backlash against the voice actress from the game was intense, and it’s a shame how cruel fans can be, especially when a character isn’t likable. Abby’s story has so much depth, but people still reacted strongly against her. It would be great if they could find ways to humanize her more in the show to help viewers connect with her. Everyone deserves to feel safe, especially when stepping into a role that has faced such negativity.
