Jason Momoa Is Lobo In The New DC Universe

You might know actor Jason Momoa from the handful of times he played Aquaman in WB’s now-abandoned Old DC Cimenatic Universe. They’re building a New DC Cimenatic Universe now, and today we learned Momoa’s still going to be on the payroll, but as a totally different character. Momoa will now be Lobo. That’s L as in Lacerate, O as in Obliterate, B as in disemBowel, and O as in….well, I guess we can use “Obliterate” again, right? In terms of personality Lobo couldn’t be more different from Aquaman, but the way Momoa talks, it sounds like the Main Man was the role he wanted all along. “If they call and ask me to play him, it’s a **** yeah,” he once said on his Insta, and he confirmed it recently by simply saying “They called.” Lobo started out as a parody of Marvel’s Wolverine; the “tough guy” stereotype, but taken to such an extreme that he’s really not a hero anymore. Lobo is a trash-talking Space Biker and intergalactic bounty hunter who rides a motorcycle through the vacuum of space (somehow) to chase his targets. The Main Man’s main weapon is a hook on a chain, which he keeps wrapped […]

I think Jason Momoa will love being Lobo even more because, let's be real, he gets to wear a vest. No more worrying about having to keep those abs in check for the camera. A vest is just practical - it's all about the attitude and less about the physique. He can just be himself, enjoy the role, and have fun with it.

Nice! Jason Momoa from Aquaman to Lobo - I can see it. He's got the look for it, and from what I hear, he's excited about it too. It's cool how they're mixing things up in this new DC universe. Lobo sounds like a fun character, especially with his unique style of fighting and his self-centered attitude. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out with Supergirl

This is going to be awesome! Jason Momoa as Lobo? Perfect match. He's got that vibe of someone who could ride through space on a bike, no questions asked. Plus, his previous comments show how much he wanted this role. It's going to be a unique take on a character, and I'm definitely curious about how he'll interact with Supergirl. Can't wait for this new chapter in the DC saga

Lol, so now Jason Momoa's gonna be playing Lobo, right? And what's the first thing we hear? He's gonna be jobbing to Supergirl. Seriously? After all that time playing Aquaman, where he was a legit hero, now he's gonna take a beating from a girl in a movie. And not just any girl, but Supergirl, in a film where his former on-screen wife, Amber Heard, was literally Hollywood's public enemy number one.

It's like, what kind of career trajectory is this? From king of the ocean to some space biker who can't even win a fight against the Man of Steel's cousin? And let's not forget, this is coming right after he was tied to someone who became the poster child for controversy in Hollywood. Talk about going from hero to zero. I mean, at least when he was Aquaman, he had some dignity. Now, he's just setting himself up to be the punchline in a movie where he's supposed to be this tough, unbeatable bounty hunter.

It's almost poetic in a way - from being the strong, silent type to being the guy who gets knocked around by Supergirl.

I'm so excited for Jason Momoa's take on Lobo! His enthusiasm for the role really shines through, and it feels like he's been waiting to play a character like this. The contrast with Aquaman is what makes this intriguing. It's like DC is showing us they're not afraid to mix things up. I

So, we'll get scenes where Jason Momoa, playing Lobo, beats up Milly Alcock's Supergirl, only for her to turn around and beat him up in the end for that classic underdog win? Sounds like they're really playing into the whole "girl power" trope here. First, he gets to show off all his brute strength, probably knocking Supergirl around like it's no big deal, and then, surprise, she manages to pull a comeback and take down the big, bad Lobo. It's like they're setting up this predictable pattern where the villain looks dominant, only to be outdone by the hero in the eleventh hour. I bet the whole thing will be about her learning some lesson or finding her inner strength or whatever, while Momoa's character is just there to be the stepping stone for her growth.

I'm not thrilled about this. I mean, Jason Momoa was pretty good as Aquaman, but I feel like this move to Lobo is just another example of Hollywood recycling the same faces in different roles. It's like, why not give someone else a chance? Lobo's a unique character with a very specific vibe, and I'm not sure if Momoa can shake off the Aquaman image to pull it off convincingly. Plus, the whole 'bounty hunter in space' thing might just become another generic action flick

I think it's great that Jason Momoa's playing Lobo. He's got that energy that could work for Lobo's wild side. Looking forward to seeing him shake things up in the DC universe
