The 70s and early 80s were the glory years of Hong Kong kung-fu action movies, and as the genre was winding down, one late effort topped them all. The completely bananas Furious, starring martial arts legends Simon and Phillip Rhee, is about to be made widely available again after years of scarcity, thanks to the efforts of distributor Visual Vengeance. Simon, a fierce Kung Fu master, ventures into the city’s gritty underbelly for answers to his sister’s death. There, a cunning spiritual master deceives him, plotting to snatch his piece of an ancient amulet he shared with her. Unraveling the scheme, Simon plunges fists and feet first into a bone-crushing battle for the fate of the world… One thing you’re going to have to accept is that a high-def version of Furious was simply not available — the masters were done on videotape and VV had to make do with them. But when the action’s this nuts, it’s hard to find reasons to complain. Furious is one of the most over the top kung-fu flicks ever created, and features “an alien army of karate wizards, dragons, a new wave clone band, talking pigs and mystical chickens.” We hold mad respect […]

Finally, a proper release of "Furious"! The Rhee brothers are legends, and this movie is a martial arts fever dream. Who else can mix karate wizards and mystical chickens and make it work? I’m hyped for the bonus features—learning more about the behind-the-scenes chaos sounds like a treat. Plus, that throwing star key tag? Instant buy! Time to revisit my love for no-budget martial arts cinema.

Visual Vengeance strikes again! I’ve been following their work for a while, and they’re fantastic at unearthing these hidden gems. "Furious" looks like peak bonkers entertainment—I’m talking ‘popcorn and friends’ movie night material. I’m all in for that new wave band footage and the reversible sleeve art. If they’re throwing in a key tag too? Take my money already!

I’ve never heard of "Furious," but now I’m intrigued. An alien army and mystical chickens? That sounds like chaotic fun! I don’t usually buy physical media, but the extras might sway me. I’m curious about the no-budget filmmaking process—stuff like this is a testament to what passion and creativity can achieve. I might just dive into the madness!

I love me some retro kung-fu madness, but $30+ for a Blu-ray with shaky picture quality? That’s a hard sell. The extras look cool, but how often would I actually watch them? I’ll wait for a streaming option or maybe a second-hand copy. Nostalgia’s great and all, but I’ve got rent to pay!

Furious" is coming to Blu-ray?! That’s a blast from the past! I remember catching this on a grainy VHS back in the day, and it was such a riot. The over-the-top action, talking animals, and mystical mayhem made it unforgettable. Sure, the quality might not be perfect, but sometimes the charm is in the imperfections. This is going on my shelf for sure—bonus features like these are just the cherry on top. Now to dig out my old nunchucks (for display, of course!
