“Su Baek-hyang, The King’s Daughter” is 2013/2014 Korean drama series, with 108 episodes. (Relax. The episodes are about half an hour.) It’s not an old but gold, hidden gem. This treasure has been found. It’s just not available to the US audience. (Yet.) SUMMARY: “Su Baek-hyang, The King’s Daughter” is a long story about family ties and love relationships becoming extremely complicated because … hey! … life happens. Some people could live an ordinary quiet happy uneventful life were it not for the corruption, greed, lust jealousy, and envy of others. ♦ I am the Daughter of a King? Su Baek-hyang (also known as Seol-nan), is raised in a humble family, but she is the daughter of King Muryeong, ruler of the Baekje Kingdom (the 25th king). These are skills she will need to navigate the treacherous court politics and protect those she loves. Su Baek-hyang will eventually discover her true identity and hopefully take her rightful place in the kingdom. […] (read full article...)

I super love how Su Baek-hyang is portrayed as resilient and brave, especially since she’s unaware of her royal heritage. The drama seems packed with everything—family drama, politics, love triangles. I’m curious about the dynamic between her and Myung-nong. Will they be the next iconic K-drama couple? Definitely adding this to my watchlist! I’m also a sucker for historical settings, and it’s not often we get to see the Baekje Kingdom explored in Korean dramas. I hope it makes its way to US streaming soon!

I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this one before! The mix of family loyalty and court politics sounds so intriguing. Plus, I love Seo Hyun-Jin and Seo Woo—both actresses are amazing at portraying complex characters. The fact that it has so many episodes isn’t necessarily a turn-off for me; I’m all about the long series that develop characters over time. I do wish more historical dramas like this were available in the US, though. I’ll keep an eye out for any potential releases on streaming platforms!

I’m a sucker for anything with a historical setting, especially if it dives into lesser-known periods of Korean history. The Baekje Kingdom isn’t one I know much about, so this show has piqued my interest. The plot seems rich with intrigue and family drama, which makes sense given the political instability of the time. I’m also curious how it portrays the different royal factions and their relationships. If the series does justice to the history while delivering good drama, it could definitely be worth the watch!
