What Am I made for?
“Lioness” aka “Special Ops: Lioness” is a hit action spy series. Season 1 was released in 2023 and Season 2, which has 8 episodes, premiered on Paramount+ on October 27, 2024. The series is based on a real-life CIA program. STORYLINE: In Season 1, Joe along with another female CIA operative were sent on a mission to infiltrate a terrorist organization. The female operative gets closer to her “mark” than she should have, i.e it gets personal. This unprofessional “change of heart” could compromise and even expose the professional undercover agents. The mission might be jeopardized and agents could die because one agent “wavered”. In Season 2, the aftermath of their previous mission has put the Lioness Program at risk of being discontinued. But when a U.S. congresswoman gets abducted, the undercover operatives are called into action. CAST: Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman Zoe Saldana, known for her roles in “Avatar: The Way of Water”, “Star Trek”, and “Colombiana”; and best known as Gamora in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, effortlessly and convincingly portrays “Joe” (Joe McNamara), a station chief of the CIA’s Lioness program. She’s in charge of female undercover operatives. Nicole Kidman plays “Kaitlyn Meade”, a senior supervisor who […] (read full article...)

I like Lioness well enough, but the second season didn’t grab me the way I was expecting. There’s a lot of focus on the CIA’s internal politics, and while it’s interesting, it kind of drags on. The characters are great, but I feel like they’re not growing as much as they should be. The action is there, but it’s just not hitting as hard this season. I might check out Season 3, but I’m not sure yet.

he stakes feel higher this season, and the action doesn’t let up. The abduction of the congresswoman really shook things up. Zoe Saldaña continues to shine as Joe. It’s great to see Nicole Kidman in this role too—she’s perfect as the tough-as-nails supervisor. This show keeps me coming back for more!

Season 2 is a solid follow-up, but it’s not perfect. The pacing feels uneven—some episodes feel slow, while others rush through critical moments. That said, the acting is stellar. Morgan Freeman adds gravitas to the show, and Zoe Saldaña continues to impress. I just wish the story wasn’t so predictable.I’m a huge fan of Zoe Saldaña, and she’s absolutely killing it in this series! Season 2 is definitely more intense, especially with the stakes getting higher. I’m glad to see the plot moving forward, though I kind of wish the secondary characters had more depth. I’m still excited to see how the rest of the season unfolds, but some of the twists feel a little too familiar.

Honestly, I’m kind of disappointed with Lioness Season 2. The first season was a solid intro, but now it feels like they’re dragging the plot out. The whole abduction angle didn’t add much new to the story, and I was hoping for more character development. It’s not a bad show, but I think they could’ve done more to make it stand out. I’m not sure I’ll keep watching.

The acting is strong, don’t get me wrong, but the storyline felt too predictable. The whole “CIA agent on a mission” thing is getting old, and I don’t feel the same sense of danger I did in Season 1. Some episodes were really slow, and it felt like the show was just marking time rather than moving the story forward. I’m kind of on the fence about finishing the season. I was hoping for more from this show, especially after such a promising first season.
