T-Minus One Month Until Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

Can you hear me, Major Tom? We’ve now got 31 days until the Skeleton Crew takes off. This Disney+ Star Wars original is about as far from Andor as you can get: it’s about four kids from the Ambin Planet who illegally board a ship and become lost in space. It’s the biggest “we don’t know what to expect” production from Lucasfilm in quite a while. The crew “makes a mysterious discovery,”according to the synopsis, that soon gets them “lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy, crossing paths with the likes of the mysterious Jod Na Nawood.” With a name like that, he’s an obvious Jedi, and he saves the kids from space pirates before agreeing to help them get home. WILL they get home or will there be a Season 2 teaser instead? As a Stranger Things nut, I’m clearly not opposed to shows with a main cast of children. I’m just wary because a lot of other shows with a main cast of children have turned out to be dumb and embarrassing. It depends on how seriously they take this. The Duffer Brothers said in a recent interview they spent way more time auditioning for the preteen characters […]

As someone who loves Stranger Things, I see a lot of potential in Skeleton Crew, but I can't help but draw comparisons. The success of Stranger Things largely relied on a talented cast of young actors who brought depth to their roles. I hope Skeleton Crew can achieve the same level of casting because, let's face it, a poor performance by the kids can really ruin the show. The galaxy of Star Wars is vast and has so much to offer, but if the focus is on annoying child actors, it might just feel like a rehash of past mistakes. I’m cautiously optimistic, but I’m watching closely!

I really hope Skeleton Crew turns out to be better than The Acolyte. It seems like there's been a growing trend of infusing politics into Star Wars, and while I understand that storytelling often reflects societal issues, I’d prefer to see the franchise return to its roots of adventure and exploration. I want to escape into this galaxy far, far away, not be reminded of the complexities of our own world. I'm excited to see kids navigating this universe, but I hope it focuses more on their journey and character development rather than political commentary.

I’m looking forward to Skeleton Crew, but I have my reservations. Disney+ has had its hits and misses, and the child-led cast could go either way. I remember some of the earlier Star Wars content not living up to expectations. It’s all about execution; the story and character development will be crucial. If they can avoid the pitfalls of cringe-worthy child performances and lean into compelling narratives, we could have a winner on our hands. I just hope they don’t try too hard to appeal to nostalgia at the expense of quality.

I never thought I’d hear ‘Major Tom’ sung by an alien, but it’s actually pretty cool! It gives Star Wars a new, unexpected vibe. And with XAI740K coming out soon, it looks like this year is going to be huge for Star Wars! I love that Skeleton Crew is going for a warm, friendly story. Those kinds of shows can really connect with people, especially when they’re about friendship and adventure. I’m excited to see how they bring all that together. It’s nice to have something fun to look forward to in Star Wars.

This looks like exactly what we've been waiting for! A new Star Wars show that’s creative, fresh, and still totally Star Wars. I’m stoked about Skeleton Crew! It’s got a fun, Guardians of the Galaxy vibe—I can already see the humor and adventure. It's cool to see a show about kids having a crazy space adventure. The people who worked on XAI740K totally nailed it—this series is gonna be awesome! I’m ready to blast off into the galaxy and see how these characters grow!"
