“Rampant” is a 2018 Korean film, categorized as Horror, Historical Fiction, Costume and Period, Zombie Apocalypse, Action, and Supernatural. “Rampant” is included in the lineup of Samsung TV Plus On-Demand K-Horror Movies. SUMMARY: Joseon’s king is a Qing puppet. The crown prince tries to overthrow the king but his plan fails. The coup involved getting help from the Dutch. Instead, the war minister who is also after the throne orders his men to board the Dutch ships for weapons. There is a flesh-eating zombie on the ship and one of the Joseon soldiers is bitten and gets infected. When he leaves the ship, he spreads the disease to others. The result? Joseon is overrun by flesh-eating zombies. This is much worse than going against the Qing from the outside and fighting political corruption from the inside. ♦ Demons and Assassins? In “Rampant”, the king of Joseon is weak and spineless. He whimpers and crawls in front of the Qing and pays tribute while his son, PrinceGang Lim, has been taken hostage. While in Qing, the prince enjoys himself to the fullest, partaking in the food and drink and mainly enjoying the beautiful women. He would rather not return home. Why […]

Sword-wielding prince fighting zombies in historical Korea? Sign me up! Who needs political drama when you have epic battles and flesh-eating monsters? I gotta check out the trailer and see how intense the action sequences are.

Ooh, Hyun Bin in a historical drama with zombies? Sounds like a cool mashup! Though a 6.3 rating on IMDb isn't super high. Maybe the story gets overshadowed by the action? I wonder if there's any romance between the prince and the crown princess? That could be a fun element.

Intriguing concept! Zombies in Joseon dynasty Korea? I'm curious how they blend the historical setting with the supernatural elements. Hopefully, it's done respectfully and doesn't stray too far from the actual period. Also, interesting to see the political intrigue with the Qing dynasty involved. Might be worth a watch for the historical context alone.

Hmm, not sure about this one. Zombies in a historical period drama feels a bit out there. I prefer my K-dramas to be more grounded in reality. Plus, the ratings are all over the place. Maybe I'll stick with my usual historical dramas and skip this one.

Gotta add this to my K-drama watchlist! I try to watch as many Korean movies and shows as possible. Even if the reviews are mixed, it sounds like a unique concept worth checking out. Definitely curious to see how they handle the political stuff alongside the zombies.

Free on Samsung TV Plus? Sold! I'm always looking for ways to save money on entertainment, especially during Halloween season. Even if it's not the best movie ever, a free zombie flick sounds like a fun way to spend an evening.

Korean historical dramas with a political angle? Sounds promising. But throw in zombies? Now I'm not so sure. This feels like a strange mix of genres that might not work well together. I might give it a shot, but I'm keeping my expectations low.

After so many Korean zombie mirrors I think reviewers felt like the theme was over-saturated, so they gave the film low marks. If you compare “Rampant” to “Kingdom”, you'll probably think “Kingdom” was better.

This isn't the first time I've watched a K-drama about zombies in the Joseon Era. The funny thing is the vampires, zombies, etc. get blamed on the Europeans. LOL. It's like: If we hadn't let those darn foreigners in we wouldn't be having this problem! LOL.
