Monsters: Ed Gein Netflix’s acclaimed true crime anthology series, Monsters, is set to explore the horrifying world of one of America’s most notorious serial killers, Ed Gein. Following the successful seasons focusing on Jeffrey Dahmer and the Menendez brothers, Season 3, titled Ed Gein, will delve into the chilling case of the reclusive Wisconsin farmer whose gruesome crimes inspired iconic horror villains. Gein gained national notoriety in the 1950s for his grisly acts, which included murdering at least two women and exhuming bodies from local cemeteries to create grotesque trophies and even furniture. Charlie Hunnam, known for his roles in Sons of Anarchy and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, will take on the challenging role of Ed Gein, offering a glimpse into the complex and disturbed psyche that led him to commit such heinous acts. Monsters Season 3 will explore the dark and isolated life of Ed Gein, shaped by a dysfunctional family environment. His mother, Augusta, was a domineering and controlling figure who instilled in him a deep sense of fear and religious extremism. His father, George, was an alcoholic who offered little support or guidance. This toxic home environment undoubtedly played a role in the development of […]

I'm definitely going to watch this. I love true crime shows, especially when they're well-made. I'm a big fan of Charlie Hunnam, so I'm excited to see him take on such a challenging role. I hope the show doesn't shy away from the gruesome details, but I also hope it's handled with sensitivity and respect

This is definitely a topic that needs to be explored. Ed Gein's crimes were so horrific, and it's important to understand why he did what he did. I'm interested to see how the show portrays his relationship with his mother. I think that was a major factor in his development.

Ed Gein's tragic story highlights the devastating consequences of isolating children from their peers. Parents who force their kids to live in a bubble, depriving them of social interaction, are essentially setting them up for failure. Children need to learn how to navigate social situations, develop healthy relationships, and understand the world around them. Without these experiences, they are at a much higher risk of developing mental health problems and engaging in harmful behaviors. It's a harsh reality, but parents who choose to isolate their children are essentially condemning them to a life of suffering.

Ed Gein was a complex individual, and his relationship with his mother was undoubtedly a significant factor in his development. While his mother was clearly a controlling and abusive figure, I don't think he admired her at all. I believe he deeply resented her and her toxic influence. The shrine he created for her was likely a twisted attempt to cope with the trauma he experienced at her hands. It's a dark and disturbing interpretation, but it's one that I find plausible.

I know people compare him a lot to Leatherface but unlike Leatherface,
Ed Gein didn't actually eat any of the human remains he mutilated. He used them to create disturbing objects like dishes and couch coverings. It seems like he was stockpiling body parts for future projects, but it's hard to say for sure. He was clearly a deeply disturbed individual, and his mother's abuse undoubtedly had a profound impact on his mental state. It's difficult to understand the motivations of someone who commits such horrific crimes, but it's clear that his actions were the result of a severely twisted mind.

I'm not sure I have the stomach to watch this show. Ed Gein's story is just too gruesome. I had nightmares after reading about him on Wikipedia. I think I'll stick to lighter fare for now

I hope this show doesn't create any fangirls for Ed Gein. Remember when the Jeffrey Dahmer show aired, a lot of girls started thinking he was cute? It's really disturbing. I hope people can see these characters for the monsters they are and not romanticize them.
