Before Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama’s passing, he contributed to one last DB series: Dragon Ball Daima, about to be released globally next month. The English dub of it, however, won’t be ready in time — no simulcast for you. But here’s how Crunchyroll will make up for it….the first three dubbed episodes of Dragon Ball Daima will premiere theatrically. The announcement was made today alongside the release of the English dub trailer, which is identical to the original Japanese trailer. Both of them start off with a shot of outer space, where we hear someone chanting a magic spell. That’s followed by an explosion, and then Goku and his friends find that they’ve become kids again. Toei Animation has been hiding specific details about this plot or why what just happened actually happened. Before death, Toriyama was quoted as saying “in order to fix things, they’ll head off to a new world! Since Goku has to make up for his petite size, he uses his nyoibo (power pole) to fight, something not seen in a long time. I'm honestly a bit disappointed with Dragon Ball DAIMA being a filler series. We still have the Moro and Granolah arcs to adapt from the manga, and those are pretty epic! It feels like they're just stalling for time or trying to milk the franchise. Plus, I'm not a fan of the whole "kid Goku" thing again. GT already did that, and it wasn't exactly well-received. I think fans would prefer to see the adult characters continue their adventures, not go back to square one.

Dude, Dragon Ball DAIMA in theaters?! This is insane! Remember waiting in line for the DBZ movies as a kid? Gotta grab tickets for this one, relive the magic with the new story. Plus, gotta see Goku as a kid again, that's pure nostalgia! I'm already planning a marathon watch-party with my old crew.

Three episodes in theaters? Sounds interesting, but honestly, no time! Between work and family, catching a movie feels like a luxury. Maybe I can catch the subtitled version online later, whenever I get a free moment. I'm hoping the series is worth the wait.

Theater tickets for anime? Woof, that's gonna hurt my wallet. Guess I'll have to wait for the streaming release, gotta prioritize those ramen noodles. Still hyped for the new series though, can't wait to see what adventures Goku gets into next! I'm also hoping there's a way to watch it with friends online, so we can discuss it together.
