WB Confirms House Of The Dragon Will Be Just Four Seasons Long

Halfway through last Sunday’s season finale for Game Of Thrones: House Of The Dragon, I checked the time and realized we would probably not be getting the “Big Fight” the back half of the season had been leading up to. And….I was fine with that. I haven’t checked what the General Public Opinion was but it was probably less kind. It’s become clear they’re going to tell this story at its own pace, and not rush or delay anything to fit a predetermined schedule, which will result in a better show as a whole. If you’re sore over the season finale of HOTD, you don’t know what a TV show shamelessly stalling for time is actually like. Which means you probably never watched The Walking Dead. They’re going to film what GRRM wrote, nothing more, nothing less — and given what happened the last time a GOT production went off-script, can you blame them? Showrunner Ryan Condal confirmed to the press after the season finale that only four seasons are

Dang, only four seasons for House of the Dragon? I was hoping for more dragon battles and palace intrigue! But hey, at least they're not dragging it out like some shows (looking at you, Walking Dead). Two years seems like a long wait for the next season, but hopefully, it'll be worth it. Guess I'll have to rewatch the first two seasons to hold me over!

Four seasons sounds good to me. It's better to have a focused story than something rushed or full of filler. The pacing in the last episode was a bit slow, but I trust they're building towards something epic. Plus, two years for a season isn't bad compared to some shows I follow. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go find some good Targaryen fan theories to keep me occupied until season 3.

Sticking to four seasons is a wise move. George R.R. Martin's writing thrives on focus. Hopefully, they stay true to the source material in these remaining seasons. The wait for the next season will be tough, but at least we know it's coming! Time to reread "Fire & Blood" again to refresh my memory.

Four seasons? Only four? Ugh, that feels kinda short. I mean, there's so much Westeros lore to explore! But hey, at least they're not milking it like some franchises. Hopefully, these next seasons are epic and action-packed to make up for the slow burn of the finale.

House of the Dragon is only four seasons? That's kinda sad, I was just getting into it! But two years for a new season isn't too bad, I guess. Maybe I can convince my parents to get me the books so I can find out what happens next. In the meantime, I'll be joining all the online communities to discuss theories with other fans!
