Pro Wrestling had a mystery and a danger to it in the early decades of its existence. Many fans defended the “sport” to those that mocked the theatrics of its brawny, brawling stars. Little Lucha & The Big Deal, a new short film by Scarlet Moreno and Josh Stifter aims to bring the magic back to pro wrestling in our modern era where kayfabe (the facade presented by the wrestlers and promoters that the drama taking place in the ring is authentic) has been broken. Following the lives of two professional wrestlers, the “pencil neck geek” Little Lucha (Josh Stifter) and the fan favorite women’s wrestler, “The Big Deal” Alexis Steel (Scarlet Moreno), this throwback film recalls the feeling of cult 80’s wrestling drama All The Marbles with a little bit of grindhouse grit added to give it a Tarantino sheen. This aesthetic immediately draws the viewer in, transporting us to a moment in time when the grappling heroes like “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes felt like they were fighting

GLOW, man. GLOW. Cancelled. Netflix, you jerks! High ratings, awards, and you pull the plug because of a pandemic? Seriously? I still can't believe it. This new wrestling movie? It's like a tiny spark of hope. Maybe it can fill that huge GLOW-shaped hole in my heart. I need that 80s wrestling drama, the underdog stories, the strong female characters. This new wrestling short film sounds like it might scratch that itch. If it's got strong female characters, underdog stories, and a touch of 80s nostalgia, maybe it can fill the void until Netflix comes to its senses.

A movie about friendship, believing in dreams, and the power of a good comeback? Sounds like just the pick-me-up I need! Who cares if it's about wrestling, that kind of positivity is always a win. Plus, 14 minutes is a breeze, I can definitely spare that much time for a feel-good story. Here's hoping these underdog wrestlers get their shot at glory!

Man, it's tough being a wrestler. Everyone wants to be the champ, right? The spotlight, the crowd chanting your name. But the reality is, most end up as jobbers. You know, the ones who lose all the time? It's heartbreaking to see someone with real talent get buried like that. I hope this movie shows the other side of wrestling, the struggles of the everyday wrestler, not just the shiny champions.

Hold up, did they say Wendi Richter-inspired outfit? Girl, you had me at hello! I'm all about the big hair and outrageous costumes of the 80s. If this movie has a strong female character rocking that look, I'm sold. Who cares if it's about wrestling, the fashion alone could be a blast from the past!

"Must-watch for wrestling fans"? Easy there, champ. This is a short film, not a Hollywood blockbuster. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Still, the bit about the filmmakers being on "Rebel Without A Crew" is interesting. Maybe they'll pull off something special with a limited budget. I'll keep an eye out for it, but my expectations are tempered.
