Two months ago, a video for some unannounced Sonic game called “Sonic Toys Party” was leaked to the Internet. Very little was known about it, other than it seemed to be for mobile devices and it took a lot of inspiration from Fall Guys. As of today Sega has officially revealed the game, and while much of the new trailer matches the prototype, it’s all going by a new name: Sonic Rumble. The toy aspect of the original title is intact; you’re controlling Sonic-shaped toys come to life, much like in Smash Bros (though that’s the only similarity). There’s a backstory here, something about Dr. Eggman creating a magic board game and sucking the entire Sonic cast into it. If I were Sonic, I wouldn’t be happy about that, but they all appear to be in a chipper mood.
