In “The Escape of the Seven”, a young teenage girl is missing. Her murder was live-streamed (using deepfake technology… CLUE!). But when the police get to the scene her body is missing, so her death is not confirmed. Although the alleged murder suspect is at the scene and promptly arrested. The suspect is the young girl’s adoptive father.

This drama really dives into the dark psyche of Machiavellians and psychopaths. The character "K" is a fascinating study in madness. I appreciate how they depict the blurred lines between good and evil, making us question the characters' mental states. The lavish settings contrasting with their corrupted minds add a symbolic layer to the storytelling. And seriously, that hallucinogenic twist on the island? Genius.

Okay, unpopular opinion, but I loved the ending! Sure, it was a bit cheesy, but it was so unexpected and left room for imagination. The characters faced their karma, and the psychopath leader? Oh, they got what was coming! The anticipation for Season 2 is killing me. I've been rewatching the finale just to catch any hidden clues. Bring on the next season!

Honestly, "The Escape of the Seven" lost me with the whole hallucinogenic island scenario. I mean, seriously? That's a stretch even for a K-drama. The characters were well-built until that point. I prefer a more realistic approach. But hey, the ratings suggest I might be in the minority here. Maybe I just can't appreciate the fantasy element in this psychological thriller.

The plot intricacies in this drama are both its strength and weakness. At times, it felt like the story was juggling too many threads, and I had to backtrack to keep up. However, the character dynamics are intriguing, especially the manipulation between the Machiavellians. If they could streamline the narrative a bit, it would be a perfect binge-watch.

As a psychology student, I'm loving the exploration of Machiavellian and psychopathic behaviors. It's like a case study come to life. The show raises ethical questions about human nature and choice. I've even considered using it for my thesis. If only the ending had a bit more substance, it could be a groundbreaking piece for psychological analysis in pop culture.

Someone, please tell me this is going to be in English. I just watched the trailer, and I find it hard having to read all the captions.
Or is it just me who has an issue with that?
It also seems to be having many unrealistic events.
