XD Games have announced a new tactical fantasy RPG is coming from their studio: Sword of Convallaria. The game is being developed for both mobile and PC gamers, two markets that typically don’t blend.

XD Games is really taking a risk with Sword of Convallaria. A tactical fantasy RPG on both mobile and PC? I'm skeptical about how they'll balance that. The idea of diffusing tensions in a conflict-ridden land is intriguing, but it's a well-worn concept. With 1,000 stages, I'm concerned it might become repetitive. And while I appreciate the retro art style, I'm not sure it's enough to hold my interest.
Honestly, Sword of Convallaria doesn't catch my attention at all. I mean, it's 2023 and we're still dealing with non-3D games? I just can't get behind that. Games these days should be pushing for photorealistic experiences, not sticking with a look reminiscent of Final Fantasy V. It's disappointing to see a game not embracing the potential of modern technology and visuals. It's just not what I'm looking for in a game these days.
To the haters above, I disagree! Nostalgia Market is huge!
Sword of Convallaria sounds like a game with potential. Tactical fantasy RPG? Cool! But I'm a bit unsure about the mobile and PC combo – those are pretty different gaming experiences. The plot seems interesting with conflict and choices, but I'm curious if it'll stand out from similar games. 1,000 stages sounds like a lot, and I hope they manage to keep it cool throughout. The pixel art style is a nice nod to oldschool RPGs.

XD Games is trying something different with Sword of Convallaria, but a tactical fantasy RPG on both mobile and PC? That sounds like a recipe for compromises. The conflict backdrop and choices for multiple endings are intriguing, but 1,000 stages might be overkill. The pixel art is a nice throwback, but I'm concerned the gameplay might not live up to expectations on both platforms. I'll keep an eye out for reviews before giving it a shot.
