Michael's experience of discovering Zenescope comics is quite relatable. Everything began with a chance encounter with the first issue of Red Agent at a comic book store. He had no idea that picking up that comic would send him down a rabbit hole into a whole new world of recreated fairy tale characters. I can image his enthusiasm and interest as he went deeper into Zenescope's unique world.

The reworking of classic characters is one of the most intriguing parts of Zenescope comics. The way they've taken characters like Gretel, who becomes a witch hunter and acquires powers after killing witches, and Red Agent, who is a cross between Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, gives these well-known fairy tale figures a whole new spin. It's thrilling to see these characters in a fresh light, with distinct viewpoints and abilities that set them apart from the original stories.

The shared universe concept attracted David Wohl to Zenescope. The thought of all these various individuals coexisting in one universe is a fantastic one. It allows the writers to experiment with new plots and relationships between characters. I can only fathom the thrill of working in such a collaborative and creative environment, where the possibilities are limitless.

It's extremely amazing to see Zenescope Entertainment's growth and success, and I can't help but wish that their trajectory continues upward.

David Wohl and the entire team's passion and effort are clear throughout this interview. By continuously offering fascinating stories, redesigned characters, and captivating artwork, they have created a loyal fan base. Zenescope's ability to tap into the fascination of familiar fairy tales and infuse them with fresh, thrilling twists has been a winning recipe. With their shared universe concept and the creative freedom it allows, Zenescope has endless opportunities to explore new realms, storylines, and interactions between characters. I wish them continued success.

The art work reminds me of the 90s. It's intriguing to hear Michael's perspective on Zenescope's storytelling style, with most of their books being presented as mini-series rather than long, drawn-out story arcs. This approach allows for concise and focused storytelling, providing readers with satisfying narratives in manageable doses.

Loved this interview with David Wohl! He's had such an amazing career in the comic book industry, starting as an intern at Marvel and then making a name for himself with Top Cow Studios. It's so inspiring to see someone work their way up from the bottom and achieve success in their field. I can't wait to hear more about his journey.
