In the early 90s you either had a Super Nintendo or a Sega Genesis — it was the parents who paid for these things and most would chafe at the idea of buying a second console. There were many Genesis kids who looked on at the Zelda series with some jealousy, but there WERE options to get a similar experience. Both of them have finally arrived in the Genesis section of Nintendo Switch Online as of today.

Oh wow, Landstalker! That game brings back so many fond memories. It's true that it differs from Zelda with its isometric perspective, which adds a bit of a challenge when it comes to platforming and hitting targets. But let me tell you, it's one of the best action-RPG experiences on the Genesis. If you're a fan of Zelda and looking for something similar yet unique, Landstalker is definitely worth a try.

The Revenge of Shinobi was such a classic title in Sega's hack-and-slash series. I remember playing it and being thrilled by the unauthorized appearances of Batman, Spider-Man, Rambo, Godzilla, and the Terminator. It was like a crossover dream come true! Although those characters were later removed in subsequent printings, the game still holds its own as an exciting experience. And now, with the Nintendo Switch Online, we can enjoy it once again.

I have to admit, the Genesis port of Ghouls 'n Ghosts is a real challenge. I've been playing it on Nintendo Switch Online, and it's definitely not for the faint of heart. But that's part of its charm, right? It's a game that tests your skills and determination. The sense of accomplishment you feel when you overcome its difficulty is truly rewarding. If you're up for a tough but rewarding gaming experience, give it a shot!

My poor young self couldn't afford multiple consoles back in the day, having the chance to play these Zelda-esque experiences on the Switch is fantastic. It's amazing how Sega has brought these classics to a new generation of gamers
