Publisher Assemble Entertainment and developer Little Knight Games are working on a Moroccan-inspired Metroidvania called Mira and the Legend of the Djinns. The game won’t be ready for several months, but you’ll be getting the chance to try it out soon. You play as Yuba, globetroting treasure hunter, who has just discovered the debris of the kingdom of Fallen Amazgesh. Yuba doesn’t venture far before she meets Mira, a djinn who has lost her memories. The only way to uncover the secrets of Amazgesh and how it fell is to thoroughly explore the ruins, because Mira certainly can’t tell you. She will, however, give you special weapons tied to the four Primal Elements of Djinns: Solar, Celestial, Infernal, and Lunar. As you grow in abilities, you’ll be able to venture further. Sprawling Map: Guide Yuba and Mira across a massive Metroidvania map filled with secrets, rewards, and battles around every corner. A Unique Inspiration: The development team wants to express and celebrate Moroccan culture and mythos through a game steeped

A Metroidvania with a historical twist? Sign me up. Exploring a ruined Moroccan kingdom with a mysterious djinn at your side sounds like a recipe for an epic adventure. The demo coming to Steam Next Fest is perfect timing to test the exploration mechanics and combat system. I need to see how well the four elemental weapons integrate with the level design and enemy types. This could be a real gem, and I'm already brainstorming the most efficient path to uncover all the secrets in that sprawling map.

A Metroidvania with a unique cultural influence? Sign me up. Exploring a sprawling map filled with secrets and strategically battling enemies with different elemental weaknesses sounds like a delightful challenge. I'm particularly interested in how the djinn's lost memories tie into the narrative. Unraveling the mysteries alongside Mira while acquiring new abilities to access previously unreachable areas? Pure exploration gold! Definitely trying the demo.

A new Metroidvania with a cultural twist? Sounds interesting, but I'll need to see more before I'm fully sold. The demo will be crucial in determining if the combat is engaging, the exploration feels rewarding, and the story manages to captivate me. Here's hoping it delivers on its potential!

This game seems perfect for co-op! Imagine teaming up with a friend, one controlling Yuba and the other controlling Mira. We could explore the map together, strategize boss fights, and uncover the secrets of Fallen Amazgesh as a duo. The announcement doesn't mention co-op, but here's hoping they consider adding it in the future! Maybe the demo will hint at this possibility?

Metroidvania? Check. Time trials and leaderboards? Not mentioned. This game has potential, but without some kind of speedrunning functionality, I might lose interest. Imagine the challenge of mastering movement abilities and enemy patterns to conquer the map in record time! The demo better show some promise for speedrunning; otherwise, this might be a pass for me.
