Oda Gets Frank(y) About Netflix's Live-Action One Piece

Netflix has this weird habit of taking beloved Japanese properties and turning them into bad American shows and movies. It’s something I wish they’d stop doing, but they try to get the original Japanese creators involved to some degree, wiether it works or not. Their infamous Cowboy Bebop adaption did contain some input from Watanabe, who said the series was great prior to its premiere but sang a different tune months afterward, calling it a disappointment now.

I want this to succeed and I tried to give it momentum by watching Iñaki Godoy's show Imperfects because had that show succeed, it would have given this momentum sadly Imperfects got canceled.

Hope this succeeds because it will be fun to watch one piece without the annoying fillers the anime have.

Live-action remakes of well-known franchises often cause me great ammount of anxiety. Congratulations to Oda for being honest about his worries and dedication to the project!I have a cautious sense of optimism for the live-action version. Oda's involvement is fantastic, but let's hope Netflix treats the original content with regard.

It will be difficult to translate One Piece into live-action because of its distinctive visuals and extravagant action. I'm interested to see how they approach it. I admire Oda's commitment to expanding the audience for One Piece, but I hope Netflix doesn't lose sight of the show's core values in the process. Additionally, I hope Netflix will actually stay in business rather than continually canceling.

I'm crossing my fingers that Netflix does not repeat the errors it made with Death Note and truly pays attention to Oda's suggestions. After all, a show about pirates can't possible go wrong, can it? I'm not sure whether I'm prepared to watch live-action versions of Luffy's cartoon features come to life, but I'll give it a chance. Who knows, they might even be able to make Usopp's nose appear realistic.

It's reassuring to know that Oda has final approval on the live-action adaptation, but I can't help but worry about the potential for overzealous Hollywood executives to ruin yet another classic series. Here's hoping they don't pull a Dragon Ball Evolution on us.

I'm not sure how to feel about Netflix's One Piece live-action, especially with their track record of bad anime adaptations. It's a shame that so many beloved franchises have been butchered in the past.Let's hope Netflix does it justice and doesn't ruin our childhood memories.
