The worth of the flowers in the palace, i.e. the king’s women, is judged by how many sons they bare the king. Queen Im Hwa-Ryeong (played by Kim Hye-Soo) has been very fortunate. She bore five (5) sons for the king. Her oldest son is the crown prince, but he is suffering from a life-threatening illness. He could die any day! If he were to die, who would take his place?

What an incredible series, wonderful. This is one of Korea's top actresses. I was first hesitant to watch this since I expected it to be a conventional historical drama about vying for more rank or authority, etc. However, I was smitten from the first episode as soon as I started watching it. It was able to address a variety of societal and individual issues that still exist today. I really appreciate how it represented the numerous kind of love a mother can give to her child, as well as how the youngster may return that love to their mother. This show was fantastic.

Although I enjoy K-dramas, I was put off by the main female lead's plastic surgery and botox face. I tried watching the first episode, but it's simply too tough to watch with her counterfeit face. How can I feel this is from the Ancient Period when no one had cosmetic surgery during those times?

I am pulled passionately into the plot without hesitation. It should be noted that the excellent cast makes it easier to get swept up in the story. Korean historical dramas are my favorite because they introduce us to all of the important individuals and roles in the palace, allowing us to understand about a bygone era. With all of the rules, codes, secrets, disasters, and mysteries that come with living in a palace over the years, it's like piecing together a gigantic puzzle of what it must have been like.

Oh, God! I can't get enough of this drama. It's the first time I've seen a historical drama with a character like the queen. She expresses her devotion for her children by pursuing anyone who attempt to damage them.

The series also sheds light on the Joseon Period, when monarchs frequently ascended to the throne by assassinating their predecessors. It must have been difficult for Queen Im Hwa-Ryeong to protect her sons and grandson from such a competitive climate. I'm curious to see how she navigates these treacherous waters and succeeds. One of the greatest dramas I've ever seen.

I'm not generally a fan of period pieces, but "Under the Queen's Umbrella" looks intriguing. The idea of a mother fighting for her boys' lives against corrupt bureaucrats, concubines, and the Queen Dowager is exciting. The notion that Queen Im Hwa-Ryeong must establish her innocence in her son's killing heightens the suspense. I'm interested to see how she outwits them all while still protecting her family. This series appears to be a must-see for everyone who enjoys a good political drama.

I'm excited to watch this series and see how the story unfolds. It's interesting to learn about the numerous groups vying for power during the Joseon dynasty, as well as how the royal family dealt with them. I'm looking forward to seeing how the queen and her sons manage the next challenges.

Under the Queen's Umbrella" is truly a masterclass in maternal instincts and survival skills. Queen Im Hwa-Ryeong's determination to protect her sons from corrupt officials, ruthless concubines, and a hateful mother-in-law is nothing short of impressive. It's like watching a real-life Game of Thrones, but with better hairstyles and less dragons and incest. I can't wait to see how she outsmarts her enemies in the upcoming episodes. Maybe I should take some notes for my next family gathering.

This series sounds like a rollercoaster ride of emotions! I can't even imagine the stress of being a royal mother in the Joseon Era, where kings often ascend to the throne by killing the previous king. It's like the Hunger Games, but with crowns and scepters. Kudos to Queen Im Hwa-Ryeong for fighting for her sons' lives and proving her innocence against all odds. She's the real MVP of this show, and I'm rooting for her all the way. If only I could be as brave as her when facing my own enemies, like the laundry pile
