Kill Boksoon, Single Mom at Home, Deadly Assassin at work

Kill Boksoon is a South Korean Netflix original action thriller. With great admiration, I must share that Sung-hyun Byun, the virtuoso director and writer behind the prodigious thriller Kill Boksoon. He has previously graced the silver screen with his creative talents in the form of enthralling masterpieces like “The Merciless” and “Kingmaker“.

It is likely that people will turn against the protagonist and betray her as she strives to create a better life for her daughter by giving up everything. Ultimately, she desires a simple and ordinary life. One aspect of this story that stands out is that the lead character is not depicted as young or conventionally attractive, which adds a refreshing touch of realism.

I'm super excited to check out "Kill Boksoon" after reading this post. It's impressive to see Jeon Do-yeon take on an action role and do so well. The plot sounds like a unique take on the assassin thriller genre. I'm excited to see her performance in this flick. I am intrigued by how the film deals with the problem of balancing work and family duties, particularly with such a peculiar job as assassin.

Given the secrecy surrounding her career, I'm interested to see how the movie depicts Gil Boksoon's connection with her daughter. The fact that Gil Boksoon prioritizes her daughter while having a risky job reveals a different side to assassins than we typically see in the media. The movie's emphasis on a mother-daughter connection is a welcome change of pace from the typical love subplots in action-thrillers.

This felt like an unofficial sequel of Kill Bill. It is like what is the Bride's life after she killed Bill and got reuinited with her daughter.

I completely agree with your analysis of the protagonist's journey in the story. It is heartbreaking to see how her sacrifices for her daughter ultimately lead to betrayal from those she trusted. The fact that the lead character is depicted realistically, rather than conforming to traditional beauty standards, is a testament to the authenticity of the storytelling. It makes her struggle all the more relatable and inspiring.
