SoberTherapistSD

Hello, and welcome to my profile! My name is Emily, and I'm a licensed professional counselor and licensed addiction counselor based in Rapid City, South Dakota. As a therapist, my goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your relationship with drugs and alcohol, and find your own path to recovery.

My own journey to sobriety began over a decade ago, when I hit rock bottom after years of struggling with addiction. I was living in constant fear and shame, and I had lost everything that mattered to me. It was only when I finally sought help and entered a treatment program that I began to see a way out of the darkness.

The road to recovery was not easy, and there were many times when I felt like giving up. But I also experienced moments of deep connection and hope, both with my fellow addicts and with my higher power. Through therapy, support groups, and my own commitment to staying clean and sober, I was able to build a new life for myself.

Now, as a therapist, I feel privileged to be able to offer others the same kind of hope and healing that I received. I believe that everyone deserves a chance to recover, no matter how difficult their circumstances may be. I also know that the journey to sobriety is not always straightforward, and that relapse can be a part of the process. That's why I approach each client with compassion, empathy, and a deep respect for their unique story.

One of the things that sets me apart as a therapist is my own personal experience with addiction. I know firsthand the struggles and challenges that come with addiction, but I also know the hope and joy that can come from a life in recovery. My own journey has given me a deep compassion for others who are going through the same thing, and a strong commitment to helping them find their way to a better life.

In my practice, I use a variety of evidence-based therapies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based techniques. I also believe in the power of connection and community, and I encourage my clients to explore support groups and other resources that can help them on their journey.

If you're struggling with addiction and looking for support, I would be honored to work with you. Together, we can help you find the strength and resilience to create the life you want and deserve.
