Focus Home Interactive officially announced today that it will be collaborating with the French game developer Asobo for the upcoming action-adventure game that is The Plague. The upcoming title is in the works for both PC and consoles, and it’s set to be unveiled at the What’s Next de Focus event in February. The conference will showcase games currently being produced by Focus Home Interactive.
Speaking on the news Asobo CEO Sebastian Wloch stated: “Collaborating with Focus Home Interactive on a new, original creation of our team is a major step in the development of our studio. For this ambitious project, we needed the full support of a strong and growing publisher. The Focus team, through their professionalism, enthusiasm and openness, have naturally established themselves as the ideal partners to bring the experience we wish to offer to players. ”
Focus Home Interactive President Cdric Lagarrigue added “It is a great pride for Focus to accompany Asobo on an original creation of the studio. This new signature confirms our results and know-how on the support of talented independent studios such as Dontnod, Deck13, Giants Software, Cyanide, New World Interactive and Larian on increasingly ambitious projects worldwide. There is a real upscaling of our catalog and The Plague will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the next years of Focus.”
The game is currently in its pre-production stage. The first version of the game is what’s planned to be shown at the What’s Next de Focus event, which is set for February 1 and 2 in Paris, France. There, Focus will reveal more information on the game, along with the first look at visuals. Focus also shared some of the first concept art for the game, which you can see in full below. The artwork is from pre-production concept art for the upcoming title.
