Enola Holmes 3

Enola Holmes 3 Confirmed By Netflix

The first role Netflix let Millie Bobby Brown play besides Eleven was Enola Holmes. Based on the young adult novels by Nancy Springer, the two existing movies follow the younger sister of Sherlock Holmes as she has her own adventures both separate from and adjacent to her famous detective relative. Enola was a totally different character than Eleven — she frequently talked to the audience and narrated her own story in real time.

Millie’s now done playing El (as far as we know) and since no one seemed to latch on to Michelle from The Electric State, that leaves Enola, who’s coming back for a third round of spunky sleuthing and fourth wall shattering. Netflix announced that production on Enola Holmes 3 is now under way in the UK.

You can usually tell when a second movie is setting itself up to be a trilogy. It introduces mysteries without explaining them and leaves plot threads hanging, things it never did in the first movie. Enola Holmes 2 was…NOT that kind of movie. It expanded the world of the first film but didn’t pull any unfair teases. I fully believed two were all they planned to make and, as far as I know, so did they. That universe wrapped itself up pretty neatly, but I suppose it can be unwrapped just as quickly. This third movie is a surprise, but I’ll take it — I enjoyed the first two.

Everyone’s returning…besides Brown, Henry Cavill will reprise Sherlock (oh, you’ll come back to this but NOT The Witcher, hmm?) and Louis Partridge will resume playing Enola’s love interest Lord Tewkesbury. Watson, who was introduced in the final moments of EH2, will be played by the same person, Himesh Patel. Rounding out the cast are Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria Holmes and Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Moriarty.

No word yet on when we could be seeing this, but here’s the synopsis from Netflix. Enola Homes 3 is filming now.

Even on holiday, mystery follows Enola Holmes, and you’re invited along for the ride. That’s right: Millie Bobby Brown is back as Sherlock Holmes’ equally brilliant younger sister in Enola Holmes 3, now in production in the UK.

The latest installment in the adventures of the young detective sees her tackling another mystery, this time on the island nation of Malta. You’ll have to wait and see what brings her there — but once she’s arrived, Enola is flung into a nest of vipers. As the private detective juggles a new case and the next stages of her relationship with Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge), the game is truly afoot.

That's great news! Another Enola Holmes film is on the way. I found the first two to be really enjoyable, offering a fresh and engaging perspective on the world of Sherlock Holmes through his younger sister's eyes. Millie Bobby Brown's portrayal of Enola is captivating, and her breaking the fourth wall adds a unique charm to the storytelling. The fact that the main cast, including Henry Cavill and Louis Partridge, are all returning is fantastic. Moving the action to Malta seems like an inspired decision; it offers a completely different atmosphere compared to the London settings of the previous films. The synopsis teases a compelling mystery and further development in Enola's relationship with Tewkesbury. I'm particularly keen to see how the narrative unfolds in this new location and what kind of challenges Enola will face.

Oh, wow, Enola Holmes 3 is confirmed! I was a big fan of the first two movies. Millie Bobby Brown is just perfect as Enola, she brings so much personality to the character. The way she interacts with the audience is one of my favorite parts of the films. It's good to know that Henry Cavill and Louis Partridge are coming back too; their roles are integral to the story. Malta sounds like an interesting place for the new mystery to unfold. I'm already picturing the scenery and the potential for intriguing clues. The mention of a "nest of vipers" definitely has me intrigued. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of trouble Enola gets into this time and how her relationship with Tewkesbury progresses.

Malta! That's an interesting choice of location for the third "Enola Holmes" film. It suggests a significant departure from the London setting we're used to, which could inject some exciting new cultural and visual elements into the narrative. The mention of "personal and professional dreams colliding" for Enola hints at a deeper exploration of her aspirations beyond just solving mysteries. I'm curious to see how her detective work intertwines with her personal growth and relationships, especially with Tewkesbury. The fact that Jack Thorne is writing again is reassuring, as he clearly understands the essence of Nancy Springer's characters and world. I'm also intrigued by Philip Barantini's background with "Adolescence"; his directing style could bring a unique energy to this Victorian-era detective story.

Fantastic! There will soon be another "Enola Holmes" adventure. Character development and mystery have been well-balanced in previous films, which I have enjoyed. Malta appears to be a faraway destination with plenty of potential for great narratives. Because Jack Thorne has done an excellent job of capturing the tone of the books, his return to write the script will undoubtedly improve the project. In addition, I'm curious how Philip Barantini's direction will effect this edition.
