Endless Space 2 Coming To Steam Early Access This October
Endless Space 2, the sequel to the acclaimed 2012 4X strategy game, is set to launch on Steam as an Early Access title. The game will be available from October 6 and will include four of the planned eight factions that will appear in the full release.
The fact that the game is launching on Early Access first makes sense considering that the developer usually works very closely with its fans to produce games. They have previously offered players the chance to post suggestions and vote on features that will be included in the likes of Endless Space through a program known as Games2Gether.
“We want to make a good first impression and want to deliver a version that should be as polished as what we’ve gotten you used to,” developer Amplitude said in the announcement. “Therefore, the game you will be able to play next week is the alpha version of Endless Space 2: it will be missing some features which aren’t implemented yet, but will also include mechanics we want to improve with your help. Note that the core gameplay will be there, so you’ll get a good idea of what the game is about already.”
The original Endless Space was developed by Amplitude Studios, a team made up of former Ubisoft employees in 2011. Since the release of their first title, they have created two more games in the Endless series, including Endless Legend and Dungeon of the Endless.
