VR MMORPG Eldramoor: Haven in the Mist ends Kickstarter run with $171,536!

The virtual reality scene has been steadily dipping its toes into a variety of genres that many only believed traditional gaming would ever touch. However, with this upcoming VR MMORPG, that stigma may soon break. The Kickstarter for Eldramoor: Haven in the Mist ends their Kickstarter with their stretch goals reached!

Eldramoor: Haven in the Mist was made to be a social experience, that uses RPG combat in a fantasy world to have fun with friends. You can engage in combat, crawl through dungeons, or just hang with your pals, all within a VR landscape. With such an enticing concept, it’s no wonder that a kickstarter for such a game would gain support.

With more than $170,000, Resolute games has been highly successful in their kickstarter goals, achieving them all and then some! From the promise of a bonfire system, to two whole new playable races, there are a lot of new things to look forward to thanks to the generosity of the backers.

A NEW ART DIRECTOR FOR THIS VR MMORPG

Their biggest investment with their donated gains has been the hiring of a new art director, Thomas Pasieka. Thomas is an experienced individual within the gaming industry, working with multiple big name companies. Working with names like Unity Technologies, Meta, and even Disney, it’s safe to say that Eldramoor is in safe hands.

Already, Thomas Pasieka has been getting to work on the art style of the game. Through the use of a more stylized aesthetic, one that makes use of vibrant colors and dynamic shape language, Thomas has been updating and honing the designs of the game. His work has only just begun, so keep a close eye for updates on the game!

KEY FEATURES OF ELDRAMOOR

  • A Massive Multiplayer World: Journey through five distinct zones, each with a wildly different biome, full of inhabitants to meet, treasures to loot, and challenges to conquer.
  • Social Experience: Eldramoor thrives on real interactions between real players. With guilds, dungeons, PvP and special events, there’s always something to do with your friends.
  • Combat Freedom: Characters can level every class, and gear isn’t class-locked, so nothing stops you from playing a mage and swapping to a warrior. Choose from a huge list of skills, scale them in a multitude of ways, and flip them with potent talents.
  • Self Expression/Inclusivity: The game takes full advantage of VR by providing body options, outfits, and accessories, none of which are gender-locked. You can be yourself, or whomever you want to be!
  • Accessibility: Robust comfort settings ensure that everyone can move, fight, and play regardless of motion sickness, colorblindness, or sound sensitivity. Intuitive gameplay motions and a guided new player experience allow anyone to pick up a controller and play.
  • Choose Your Challenge: If you’re a hardcore raider, hop into our endgame dungeons; we’ll put you to the test. If you don’t know what that sentence means, explore the open world. If none of that appeals to you, hit the crafting bench. Whatever your mood, there’s something for you in Eldramoor.

I like the concept, but I am careful with Kickstarter games. Many of them promise too much and struggle to deliver. The $171,000 funding is nice, but making a massive VR MMORPG will require far more money and time. The new art director is impressive, but good art will not save a game if the core gameplay is weak. I hope they keep their focus on making sure the multiplayer works smoothly and that the servers can handle many players.

I just want a VR game where I can meet people and not get bored. This sounds like it could be that. The zones, customization, and crafting all sound good. I hope they have a lot of casual activities, not just hardcore raids.

I like that there will be PvP and endgame dungeons. I want to know more about how balanced the combat will be if every character can level all classes. It could be interesting, but it also risks making certain builds overpowered. I hope they test it well before release.
